I was going to post a copy of one of my CFS2 files for another member but, Vista has some how managed to turn on its Indexing Service, which I thought I had permanently turned off. When this powerful little laptop starts indexing files, Windows Explorer becomes useless. It says it is disabled in the control panel services tab. Does anybody know if Microsoft has found a way to turn it back on despite our attempts to disable it.

There are a bunch of workarounds, fixes, etc for vista on this forums.

I bookmarked it and use it all the time.

Since, I don't have documents on Vista this kinda site is invaluable.

Good Luck

It is amazing to me how MSFT makes big changes in administrator permissions and then you find it's all hidden. Of course, you have to know something is going when you get all those stupid popup boxes that keep you reading and clicking.

Actually, I did get that message from my laptop :female: once. I responded by inserting my big black 10 gigabite flash drive :male: into its sweet little slot :hititbanana:. I kept inserting it over :redfire: and over again :bananajump:, in and out :greenf:, in and out, until finally, that big black flash drive shot :pop4: a 2000 megabite load :rocket: into that sweet little slot . Afterward, the computer went to sleep  and I could not wake it up.
