A few days ago there has been a thread about a trim gauge for helicopters.
Now i had time to test it and it's really working (Vista64/Nemeth EC-135). Many thanks! :applause:

Been trying to get this from Avsim for a quarter hour now, file doesn't seem to there any longer after clicking on download.
I just tried it (twice) and got an error message the first time about not being able to change the target location and an error message the second time saying the download failed. However, when I checked my 'downloads' folder I had an 85kb zip file sitting there called 'helitrim.zip' and opening it up reveals what could be the complete set of files. A check of the Avsim library shows 84kb as the download size.

Not sure what is going on with the Avsim downloads re. error messages but it appears the files are getting out.

This Nemeth EC-135 was one of the main reasons I made this gauge. Very nice model to fly, but with all its computers and MFD's, lack of trims was much more irritating than in bell 206 or Robinson.

I'm glad to hear that you guys like it. Very nice shots Nills, especially the last one.

I think that avsim library have just got overloaded, all in all it's saturday afternoon ;). I don't have any problems with downloading it now, but if you still have, send me a PM.

& many thanks to some1 for making this gauge for everyone dude you rock
im downloading it right now & cant wait to try it in the EC-135 as i also found the lack of trim quite frustrating

Cheers

Thanks also for your water normals!
Occasionally i'm reading in the Nvidia forum :d
Your clouds are looking great too and i will try them - thanks!

Hi Nils

Many thanks for the kind words Glad to hear you dig the D-HZSG repaint,it knocked up about 400 or so downloads across the various site i uploaded it to & i had a few emails thanking me for it so i nice to see ppl enjoy something that i really just did for myself :)

The ND EC-135 is one of my main helo's in FSX & this fix just makes it even more fun to fly also it was pretty fun to re-paint infact i have a few more on my HDD that i never finished so i might just revisit them and make up a mega repaint pack!

btw I did release a small fix for VH-ESC as i was told one of the queensland gov logo's was reversed im pretty sure i uploaded it to AVsim but i cant seem to find it there now so heres a RS link if you want to grab it

http://rapidshare.com/files/129916857/EC135_VH-ESZ_LOGO_FIX.zip

Glad to see someone else likes the clouds hehe :) i only really made them as a stop gap but im pretty pleased with the results so i think i'll spend sometime working up a freeware SHD package once i get my better camera back & plz feel free to jump in with some screenshot over at the NV news FSX thread we love large in action shots over there ;)

Thanks again & all the best
Steve

Hi Steve,
thanks for the Logo fix! I think i already use it, but it won't hurt to apply it again, to be sure.
Visually, the EC-135 is nearly perfect and easy to fly.
Please finish and release your repaints :)

I tried your clouds (@4096) and i really like them, because they look natural. A problem i have with many HD replacement texture is that they are looking too artistic and somewhat artifical.
Natural looking textures are really welcome.
I will also test them in 1024 resolution, because i only have a 8800GTS and normally, 1024 is the max texture resolution i want to use. For cirrus clouds i only use 512.
And i only use app controlled AA and AF, so i have no chance against the killer PCs the guys are using at the NV forum ;)

It's great that you will make a freeware package! I guess i will have paid for FEX and REX and in the end i will use your freeware textures :d

Thanks for your work! It's great to see talented people at work.

Hey Nils

Yep the EC-135 is my fav & this addon only makes it better

i'll have a look at finishing and uploading my other unreleased repaints as soon as i get chance :)

Great shot btw is that the FSX default weather engine or do you have RX or ASX on the go?

Ive uploaded some 1024 & 2048 versions of my clouds now as well as i kind realised to late that not everyone has top end hardware!

Thanks, I used a special cumulus theme and thanks for having mercy for poor people like me :)

That's really the best FS forum i know and i hope you will stay!

I guess, it's not what you say, but how you say it ;)
I have a lot of respect for Phil because he didn't avoid discussions and his hints have been really helpful, so i think they listen to factual critic.

The readme allows distribution to other sites so I've uploaded it HERE (http://www.screenshotworld.com/forum/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=487) I've turned off the need to register to download from this section of our site so you should be good to go.

Thanks for that!! :ernae: I will await its arrival in the DL section.
The irony is that I worked for ASIM for years, I've no idea what is happening at the moment, the alterative DL (bottom of page) now asks for an FTP log-in, which never used to happen. Normal log-in does not work either on the FTP section.

Is there an equivalent gauge that works for FS9? I've been looking all over the place, but I can't seem to find anything.

IanP
October 11th, 2008, 07:37
Have you tried http://www.hovercontrol.com? There was certainly an autopilot and autohover gauge for FS9, although I never went looking for a trim gauge.

Ian P.

jdogg1012

Hovercontrol has some articles about adjusting the airfile to decrease the yaw forces required to maintain a heading in cruise flight, but no trim gauge. My problem is that I fly with a twist stick rather than pedals, and it gets tiring to hold the twist grip to the left all the time in cruise flight. (I'm flying the Dodosim Advanced 206). So I was hoping to find some sort of gauge or program that would let me use "rudder trim" on a helicopter. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you solve it?

I got some newer water normals to go up this weekend so i'll PM you the link when there ready(or just keep an eye on the NVnews thread)

I'll have a crack a 1. for you once im done with a beaverX oz repaint im working on,i dig the metalic blue look on it so that should look good in FSX,i added a bit of metalic shimmer to the sheriff repaint and i thought that looked cool when the spec blooms a little

2. has already been done, search for d-hdrb.zip at avsim, I havent tryed it myself but the preview pic looks pretty good
