Did a bit of flying at Hank's Place on Badger Island in Alaska this morning. Great scenery for the bush pilot & GA types who want to get off the beaten path.

I think it can be found at the usual suspects (AvSim & FlightSim).

Here's some screenies...

Looks good Willy,

not my neck of the woods though, but since I got Freight dogs recently, have been flying around more in different places, Alaska included. Will have to go hunt this one down.

Jamie

BTW, is there a limit to scenery layers?

Situated between the mountains and near the border of Canada lays Hanks Trading Post. Founded in 1937 by Hank Johnson Sr. it has become an important stop along many routes to and from Alaska and Canada. Modern features include lodging for pilots and tourists, an Air Ranger Station, Mira's Bed and breakfast, the Pot O Gold Tavern, Hanks Trading Post, the Last Chance Liquor Emporium, docks for boats and float planes, Steve's fish house, and home to Skippy's nightly Homemade firework display at 9 sharp. Many thanks Willy :ernae:

off to get it now, be sure to post some more, always looking for some good scenery. Do you have Freight dogs/FScargo? Just read they will be releasing an FSx version of Cargo, maybe one day. Now who's gonna coax Bill outta retirement for GW4, lol.

Sorry don't have Frieght dogs or FS Cargo.

I tend to like places like this for when I'm just passing thru. Although, I've been known to "camp" out for a short while and do some local ops.

I need to find more places like this myself. :d

Edit: I did up a couple of AFCADs for Hank's to get the AI functioning properly and to have it show up in the Airports menu. I've attached them here and all you have to do is remove the .txt from the end of the name and drop them into add on scenery/scenery folder. AK37 is the land strip and AK38 is the water strip. At one time I was playing with water based AI flights there as well the regular AI flights I've got going in and out of there.

From Micheal Carr's readme:

If you enjoyed this, look for my other FS2002 projects (which should work in FS9):
SANGER OREGON
BLIZZARD RUN
MUSTANG LANDING
BEARS OUTPOST
SEAHORSE BAY HELICOPTER TOURS HAWAII
SUNSET BEACH
ALOHA VILLAGE

And my current FS9 sceneries:
PIRATES COVE, ST KITTS, NETHERLAND ANTILLES
BFU MANITOBA
ROTARY ROADHOUSE at HoverControl.com

I think I'm going to have to go on a scenery search myself... :d

No worries,

I just bought Frieght dogs myself, really enjoying it. Made me try somewhere new, and chose my destination for me, nice to not have to think about it. I only thought of you because it might fit in with Merc Air. Only comes with a few set up airfields, but with cunning, according to the forums, you can update to FSCargo 1.1 and get the editor to boot, lets you add FScargo areas to any airport you wish. Happy days.

Willy,

many thanks for the afcads to, saving them right now.

Another add-on that goes very well with FS-Cargo is one Panther highlighted recently, Smugglers of the Carribean by Pimp Aviation.

Wow Willy, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hanks was one of my favs to make. Your post almost makes me want to re-install FS9, LOL.

Of all my work, Pirates Cove has been d/led the most, with Hanks behind it, glad you are enjoying it and thanks for the AFCADS!!
