Well hopefully the pilot got out and hopefully this thread doesn't turn out like the last Raptor thread.Which was full of misinformation and downright garbage. You might want to wait a bit before blaming the jet.

Sadly the AirForce Times is reporting that the pilot did not survive. R.I.P.

A 20 year Air Force vet who flew on for Lockheed, too. What a shame.

I was hoping the same thing, except the misinformation and garbage came from the pro-raptor crowd.

You are right though; just because I'm not pro-raptor doesn't mean that I get to blame the jet right away. Most accidents are pilot error. It's VERY sad when the deceased take the blame.

How about we keep this thread about the F-22 crash and the loss of the pilot. Mixing in the other garbage is disgusting, and quite frankly beneath contempt.

Take that discussion to Oso's where it belongs.

Nevermind...

I provided REAL evidence to support my claims, which the pro-raptor crowd kept asking for more of and I kept providing.

Nevermind....

Let's wait and see if it was pilot error. It's sad to that the pilot was killed but it seem they always try to save the plane and die trying.

This may hold a little more detail. It identifies the pilot, and exactly where he crashed.

Did anyone notice that CNN called the F-22 "the most expensive USAF jet"? We know that's not true.

May that brave pilots soul rest in peace. I pray for his family and friends and for him.

May our people at Lockheed fix the issue and may it never happen again.

May the F-22 Fighter Jet be one of the best damn fighters America ever made!

David Cooley was the pilot. That name rings a bell. Does anyone know further background on him? Was he a demo team pilot perhaps?

tigisfat
March 26th, 2009, 16:17
I don't believe so. Max Moga has been the primary demo pilot for a while now.

Has anybody heard anything new?

bluediamond

Anything at this point would be speculation.I do know Max is no longer the Raptor demo pilot. It's now Major Dave"ZEKE" Skalicky.More info here (http://www.acc.af.mil/library/biographies/bio.asp?id=11935).I would just about trade jobs with the guy.:woot:
