im finding this pretty hard, its not half as simple as FSDS was, all the textures reset, or they dont align properly, and most annoying of all they never seem so work when i use the mesh select.
Is there a nack to this, i've looked at loads of tutorials and they all produce similar probs. I did get half my plane textured at one point and the textures didnt show in CFS3...

Textures not showing after export is in 99.99% of all cases caused by typos in the texture name, means your CFS3 dds texture name does not match the one you assingned to the plane in Gmax.
Remaining 0.01% is due to putting the texture into the wrong material editor slot.
Base texture goes into the diffuse map slot, specular texture goes into the specular level slot and reflection level texture goes into the reflections slot.

Oups, hehe, gotta complete my list of possible error sources then.
99.99% typo
0.005% wrong slot
0.005% wrong texture format (which has to be always dds)
