View Full Version : Rivers in FSSC

I am trying to create a river for CFS2 in FSSC and I find two problems:

- how can I make the flow to change direction in curves, not just as square lines?
- which texture should fit best for the surface? The vriversu.bmp file shows four different rivers and, if selected, this is what you get: four different streams of water.

I know I could use Ground2k to make the river, but I am more used to FSSC and in this way I could have all the Nomonhan scenery
in the same file for the same application.

Best regards,

Xavier

Hi Xavier,
You should realize that fssc (=SCASM) roads will not "cling to mesh"; if you use it, you must "flatten" the surface underneath, otherwise segments of the river will flicker/disappear.
Ground2k is the only possibility at this time to create mesh-clinging (VTP1) rivers.
Both in fssc and ground2k: to get smooth curves, you just need to use more points to make it look more curved.

For fssc, a better river texture is the one from cfs1 (which should be in the main TEXTURE folder): v_river.bmp

Hi SdC,

As I feared, no choice but using Ground2k (I don't have anything against this program, just I am a bit lazy to retake it again :icon_lol: ).

Thanks.
