Hey guys,

I have a quick question for the extreme Terrain gurus of FS.

How can one find out which tiles are where? For instance, if I wanted to know where Colorado or Nantucket or Innsbruck were at in the 'World Tiles' number order system, how could I do that? Is there a master template somewhere that specifies this?

Many thanks for your input.

Hi Folks

Bill -
If looking for where an airport is located,
open it up in ADE,
the NNN of the BGL equates to the level 4 QMID,
which matches the folder NNN.

Otherwise,
look at Terrain and Scenery - Base File Information section of the SDK,
which has a numbered, gridded map, (lines are a bit thick).

You can find out a lot of information using the TmfViewer app in the SDK. I leaned how to use it be following the instructions in the guide at Avsim for using SBuilderX - I believe it's called "Terrain Design for Flight Simulator X.zip" or something similarly long and convoluted. The first section, however, shows you how to nail right down into the default bgl system to find out which files contain what.

Edit: It's terrain_design_for_flight_simulator_x.zip
