<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=file&ImageID=219833 </TD><TD width=*>File Description:
This is a re-edition of the Piaggio P-149D with FS-X retail\SP1\2\Accel DX9 compatibility (DX10 users need to convert textures). The original model for FS-2004 is MN_P149D.zip + P149_FIX.zip available on AVSIM & www.mariopilot.6x.to. P_149_fix.zip is already included in this FS-X update. The Piaggio P-149 is a trainer-laison aircraft. It first flew in June 19th, 1953. I'ts a development of the P-148 model, with increased seat cpacity, tricycle retractable landing gear and a more powerful engine, featuring a three-bladed constant speed propeller. It was mainly used by German Luftwaffe as a training aircraft, that oredred 75 examples in 1955. Later in 1957 another 190 were manufactured under licence by Focke-Wulf. The D version is the one employed by Luftwaffe, while later some few P-149CH variants were used by Swissair as flying schools, and a few P-149U variants, with a new tailplane section to allow more rotation clearance on takeoff were used by Ouganda's Air Force. The P-149 Has a seating capacity of 4 with some examples being certified for 5 (both cases including pilot) and it's fully aerobatic, having G-limits set at +7\-4.5. After training activities ceased with Luftwaffe, several are still flying under civilian operators. This gMAX model features completely 3-D virtual cocpkit and cabin with advanced night lighting and custom special effects, plus a sound package recorded from the real thing. Simulates all systems onboard the real aircraft, coming with panel instructions. Flight Dynamics are built using only real data based on the 1% spreadsheet plus lots of manual tweaking for fine tuning. Read Notes before flying please... Enjoy! Notes and documentation are the htm files in the P-149D aircraft folder.

Oh great! He's finished it. I loved that in FS9 - and I had a couple of nice paints for it. Now to see if they work in X as well!

I'll convert this if I can:

Had a chance to fly this airplane a few months back after returning with the owner from a lunch engagement up at Lake Texoma. A beautiful airplane, unlimited visibility with the all glass canopy and a dream to fly.

Thanks Mario!!!

Hadn't really mentioned this before as it's a "small" thing (no pun intended), but the pilot and passenger are too small in relation to the actual aircraft/pilot proportions. . . . .orrrr, lol. . .maybe the airplane's too big for the passengers, lol.

Still a great job Mario.:ernae:

Also, if I remember right, those pax are from some kind of RPG characters - the feller's wearing some kind of leather armour under his "street gear"

This plane is killing my FPS for some reason... I drop from 25 locked down to 11 FPS only o_0'
I do not know the reason yet...

If the prop is blocked by clouds/autogen, that means it's not a 100% FSX/SP2 model (i.e. portover which is why your FPS have dropped) :kilroy::kilroy::kilroy:

Panther, at least 80% of my hangar are FS9 aircrafts, I'm quite familiar with the impact they can have on the FPS. This aircraft has an impact which is even greater than the one of the Mistubishi F-2 or the FSKBT Super Hornet which are MUCH more detailled with much more complex gauges in the VC. This Piaggo has just a few buttons and a few very simple gauges, there's no reason for such a FPS impact...
For example, the "other" Piaggo, the freeware P-180 Avanti, is much more detailled but has a minor impact on the FPS.

Then you should know that you can't expect similar performances from ported aircraft....:mixedsmi:
It's basically a "crap shoot" in ported FS2004 aircraft....Some do good, some don't....

Mario won't do native FSX models, but "optimized" (few draw calls) hybrid models.
At least that's how his upcoming P-808 will be made.

Wow, really? Dug up from 8 years ago just for a paint kit? I thought we actually had a native FSX version until I saw the date. Good Grief.:banghead:

I have the source files on hand and began the conversion a few months ago. I may finish it at some point, but not at this moment with my current work.
