~S~ All,
Who is involved in sim racing online?
Our squadron, 62nd Pursuit, races online Monday evenings. Our sim of choice is Grand Prix Legends '65.
We each keep our assigned cars but race a different Grand Prix course each session. A session is normally 15 minute practice for timing/position followed by an 8 lap race.
Our car assignments, etc., is on the third page of our web site at www.62nd-pursuit.us (http://www.62nd-pursuit.us) .
Regards,
Ken

I've never raced online. Thought of trying to start an SOH race or something, but copies of F1 Challenge 99-02 are hard to come by.
I don't like old F1 cars like in GP Legends. Give me modern F1 any day!

That's assuming you like old F1 cars w/o wings. :)

As much as it pains me to do so, I have to agree with Panther :)
I've never raced GPL online but if someone in the know was to set up an SOH 'just for fun' race I'd be there!
Warning. I'm even more dangerous in a virtual car than a virtual airplane!!

Not with F1 cars, but has anyone tried GT legends ?
Should be available in the US by now; Great graphics and the best physics model yet. Too bad the 'Starforce' protection software has some issues.
There's a demo available here :

Haven't tried it online yet.

Hey Panther, you looking for a new Racing Simulator? Now keep this in mind before you order this thing, they will design any 3D model of your choice for you. It wil be as close to the real thing as you can get! So look through GPL for your favorite car, and let them know!
Now if you want the best PC version of this simulator, you are going to need around $22,000. But heck, it comes with a 75" screen,LOL
But if you are pinching pennies like I am, then concider the Playstation2 version, thats around $5,000 cheaper!:d But you still get a, what, 35 or 37" screen with that though! And here you thought flightsim stuff was getting expensive!
Don't believe me, then go here, couldn't believe it myself, but it is true!:isadizzy:

I myself race online using the Nascar Racing 2003 Season simulator by Papyrus, the same company that made Grand Prix Legends a long time ago.
To me NR2003 ( the nascar game's internet acronym) is the best racing sim made yet. A new racing sim however, is getting raving reviews. Made by ISI, "rFactor" (www.rfactor.net) is the future of PC sim racing. You can make any mod you want with no legal ramifications, unlike NR2003 now, in which modding was made illegal last year.
If any of you guys want more info on PC sim racing, check out www.autosimsport.com and download a few copies of their magazines. They are in PDF format.

Ferror,
Right on ! I bought GT Legends last Saturday (US$20) and have found it to be all they say and more. Great graphics and modelling and just pure fun. I am now spending entirely too much time and energy on it (Ha!).
I'm going to try talking my squad into racing GTL on alternate Monday nights. (We fly different sims on alternate Wednesday nights.)

~S~All,
It's been really tough getting GT Legends to work IP direct online but we were able to get it working after three two hour work sessions.
Hope you have huge computing power. We're all high speed broadband and running 3.2Ghz, 1.5Gb ram and at least 128Mhz video and the sim needs it.
We're looking forward to serious sim racing now!
Regards,
Ken
