For those of you who don't already know, my main gaming rig went down in December & I haven't simmed since then.

The interesting thing is that the longer I go without simming, the less desire I have to return to it....

(Sounds just like recovering addicts eh?) :kilroy:

Very healthy attitude Panther. If everyone went cold turkey for a couple of months I bet half of them would find other interests.

Some of them may even go outside :icon_lol:

It's not just the visuals, I find the gameplay to be unsatisfactory as well to say nothing of the completely lackluster AI. "Outside" is over-rated. :)

I hope you're talking motorcycles and not golf. :)

I have a 1981 Yamaha XS1100 under a cover, and under many inches of snow right now. Very much looking forward to spring, supposing she starts. :)

Everyday was a PT test in the Corps.! What are the Air Force's PT test standards? Ours was a three mile run, Sit-ups and pull-ups. Cant' remember the exact number for first class.......?

Panther_99FS
March 8th, 2009, 13:19
Ours is similar to the Army's....
One minute for push-ups & sit-ups, then 1.5 mile run....

The thing is, I don't WANT to stop flight simming. It's the one thing that keeps me sane.

The Navy PT standards, I think, are similar to USAFs. They did, (at least they used to) allow folks to swim 500 yards, vs the run; which was a piece of cake for me, as I used to swim competitively. Much easier than running.

My last FSX session was a short 10 minute hop this weekend to finally give Tim's Meyers 200D a spin.

I have to admit that my current favourite sim is IL-2.

Flightsimming for my is a hobby and a way to relax, but not an addiction..

Race sims are an addiction however!
After fighting my steering wheel for 30 minutes trying to keep an F1 car out of the barriers in Monaco I'm sweating all over, my heartbeat is at 150 bpm, breathing is heavy, adrenalin is rushing through my veins.. Only thing better is sex! :d

(..But in my racecar I known we'll both finish at the same time, I get to use my rubber more than once and a race lasts longer too... :monkies: j/k ! ;) )
