HD:

Thank you for the links. Looks like a reasonable upgrade level to what is possible now. Not sure how the water will be, as it looks as if it may have the really powder puff blue. Time will tell.

Scenery looks superior to FS9 in every respect except clouds/sky, which look about the same and certainly can't match up to the likes of ActiveSky.

OMG that is VERY impressive. Wow....on a few of those pics I really couldnt have detected a difference if a real life photo had been stuck in with those screenshots. Looks like MS took a picture of the entire world lol. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was the appearance of the roads...they actually LOOK like roads lol. Perhaps when I run out of gas in my Piper i can finally land on a interstate lol.

I see cloud shaddows on the water in the first photo

I sure wish we could get some screen shots from Microsoft

I interpret that as cloud reflection which is different from shadow.

Those are all from the original marketing wave. Remember that FSX was announced only in the last 14 days...

I believe that all the screens handed out (including some to international sites) are up and out in the real world.

No screens show cloud shadows.

Cheers,

Jason

They should have kept the saying, "As Real As It Get's" for this version!

im sure FSX will leave plenty of room for developers to come in and produce some amzing stuff when systems catch up to the game, lol. shouldnt it be the other way around. :costumes:

Mmm, to me it looks like reflections on the water in the first pic and shadows on the hillsides in the fifth pic.

If you look very closely on the shots of the Cessna and Helo, M$ has implimented self-casting shadows on the aircraft. Finally, shadows that cast on aircraft themselves. Yay!

Hmmm... that last pic looks very familiar... Uluru isn't it ? (aka Ayers Rock, Australia).

Maybe we have, but the problem is we have to *remove* a new feature whenever we're referred to as M$. Sorry. :(

Well, if MS had no $ you would have no job, right*? If FS has no features then MS will not have $. :isadizzy:

*)as mcse I also rely professionally on MS releasing features, buggy as they may be at times.

Nice, already planning on buying a new system... I am thinking an Alienware AMD a couple months before the release of FS X... :)

I wonder if the aircraft will throw a visible shadow from the vc in FsX . It's evidently possible in Fs9 but it was never activated .

am i the only one that notices the birds? I'm really looking forward to have the first bird in my engine :)))

No, MS made a point of emphasizing the AI birds. I'm really looking forward to that! It should be a hoot to be taking off and see a flock of birds off your nose! Assuming bird strikes are a possibility, then it becomes a whole new dimension of flight simulation.
