I just hoped for a portover and never expected AlphaSim to do a full FSX SP2 bumpymappy selfshadow version. Thanks a bunch AS. Great to be able to fly this classic again!

What a great 'present' for FS9 owners!

I have just taken her for an airtest and am delighted:applause:, she is now as good on FR's as an FSX native and it is great to have some more classic jets in FSX.

If you like this era and did not buy it for FS9 in 2006, it's worth investing in this one. If they get some sales, they might re-visit some more old classics in the AS hangar in the same manner.

:amen:to that Calypsos!!

A reworked Voodoo would be good. It works well enough as a simple portover.

Also a B-58???

FSX Lightnings would be cool, but I think the problem is that they are built with FSDS, and nobody is on hand that is willing to convert. Same goes for the Jag, from what I've been told/ understand.

Thanks, Dan.......I take it that the Javelin was compiled with 3Dmax or such like?
Was there a mention on these forums of a program that can "grab" the mesh so that it can be incorporated into the likes of Max/Maya etc? Maybe that could be the answer rather than starting from scratch. :)

The Jave is a Gmax model- actually the first conversion to not be done by me! Phil's first instead.

I think that a new Lightning would be easier to construct than to work on the old ones now. Besides I dare say that capturing the mesh via any method would be against T&C's with regards to the original authors. The Fright is my all-time favourite aeroplane though. I'd give anything to go and work on one like I used to at the Aeropark, many years back!

For true native FSX B-58 love, check these screenshots and this thread out. David just posted these :

Take a look at the unofficial AlphaSim forum where you'll see progress shots of the native FSX B-58 Hustler - based on the original FS9 version.

She's not quite ready yet, but she's not too far off either. :ernae:
