Holy crap Marie. I thought they were supposed to be able to spot them way out there before they got that close. Somebody was sleepin on the job.

Something that "small" though I don't know if they could spot it... I guess the good news would be if it were to have hit it wouldn't have been a global killer...:icon_eek:

they are not able to spot the great majority of asteroids out there . i think it is estimated that they can only , so far , spot less than 20% of the ones that get really close , and even most of these are discovered after their passage near earth .

Probably not to much to worry about...was probably only traveling about a million mph.

And as pointed out by Odie we could always call Bruce Willis to save the planet again.
