I'm trying to figure out how to get a window that would provide a downward view within a bitmap, much like a 2d panel in FS9. Is this possible?
Flying a photo recon Spitfire, it'd be nice to be able to take pictures (screenshots) much like original aircraft did.
I remember something about bombsights in CFS and figure something similar could be done
Any help?

I feel stupid... :banghead: :banghead: :censored: :redf:
Henry's bit about the AH Panther got me to thinking so I took out the AH Spitfire manual for the umpteenth time. (It's their Mk XIX)
I'd been reading to hit shift-5, the release shift but all I've been getting was the bloody compass.
After a re-RTFM, I noticed the bit about 5 in the number keypad. Hmmm... :iidea:
A quick local flight and I got this nice photo recon pic of a local turnip patch where I can probably get a replacement for what I've been using as a hatrack... DOH!!!
So, problem solved the easy way...

Hi Willy,
If this is for a Spit MkXIX the camera is side mounted behind the cockpit. On some models there was one camera on the left side but on others there was one on each side.
The photo was taken by standing the plane on a wingtip to get the camera looking downwards.
I don't know if any kind of 'viewfinder' was drawn onto the canopy glass to aid the pilot.
Therefore your view should really be a straight left (and possibly right) view not a top down view.
Just my tuppeny thought on the subject.
