When I was a kid my friend and I with my fathers help built a bi-plane with front and back cockpits out of 2x4s and plywood. It was kind of boxy looking but we loved it. Seems like we had a lot more imagination back then (1950s) than kids have today.

:wavey:We still had imagination in the 60"s. My friend and I had a plywood "Beaufighter" (boxing looking). Spent alot of time shooting down German nightfighters, with my dads old army pile cap, racing goggles, and a dust respirator as an oxygen mask. The "Beaufighter" started out as 4x8 box with a 4x4 box on top (Sherman tank, real boxing looking). It even had a semi working breach, with beer cans painted gold for ammo. My friends dad liked his beer. Ah, imagination, times were good.

ROFL! Imagination is a great thing!!

My first simulator was a bed as the cabin... a small kids chalk table for the cowling and my Fisher Price Gas Station with parking ramp.. along with Fisher Price Airport and Fisher Price barn serving as the engine under the hood.

We had to make the sounds ourselves..

I guess you could say my first plane was powered by Fisher Price. :costumes:
