I Have an Athlon 64 FX 60 on an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe AMD Socket 939 Motherboard and would love to push it up a bit ( to say 2.9 or 3.0 Gigs ).

Not being a guru I need "step by step" instructions!

Thanks CW3SF

A big concern with overclocking is cooling. As you overclock, you will increase the temperatures quite a bit. A stock CPU cooler may prove inadequate for anything beyond a mild overclocking. When I had my AMD Athlon 64 4000, I was able to raise the CPU from 3.2GHz to 3.6GHz safely with the stock cooler, but I had extra case fans pumping air into the case. You also need a good power supply. A PSU that is straining to keep up with a stock system is likely to not provide stable voltages and amperages on an overclocked system.

Read this thread, there is quite a bit of good information about overclocking, the HTT link, and RAM dividers.
