SimHQ published a first look at the upcoming WW1 combat sim Rise of Flight:

You can sense the labor of love that went into this one, and that is not always evident in games and simulations these days. Lets hope the team can finish with the same quality they have demonstrated so far and are permitted to invest the valuable time necessary to see the project through to completion the way they have envisioned it. If they do, I'll be one of the first ones in the purchasing line.

Try A2A's BOB II. It's pretty darn good IMO. I won't be as rough on frame rates as SOW BOB will.

The 2.09 patch has been out for a bit. If you haven't seen screeshots of it yet there's a link. Just scroll down the page a bit. There's some great content in this patch.

Sure hope this sim comes to be, we've been needing a new WW1 flight sim for sometime and bi-planes can be alot of fun to fly (and fight aginst!!). They're WAY maneuverable, not fast, but they can turn on a dime!!

On a side bar, I recently saw an article on "Rise of Flight" in one of the flight sim magazines.....but for the life of me I can't remember if it was "PC Pilot" or "Computer Pilot". I think the article was more of a interview with some screen shots. Its on the newsstand now so if your interested pick up a copy and check it out.

The only thing that will hold me back initially is that they say on the site that it is not tested on 64-bit systems. I doubt that will matter, as all MS sims work on my 64-bit Vista system, but I shall have to get confirmation that this will work on a 64-bit system before I drop my dineros.
