Now using magic fsds3 I want to put radar in the vc (for a nightfighter version of the plane I'm working on). Anyone know how to make it work?

Hmmm
Need a bit more info :) There are a few radar gauges around most of them need FSUIPC to work.If you want terrain type radar maybe hack up the default GPS gauge Ive done this but be warned its slow on update and can cause probs in the VC.If you want to xml part I think ya will have your work cut out for you,if you want it to interface with the fs9 world
some links for ideas

This is a WWII nightfighter radar (later in the war) for spotting Japanese.

I suggest a simple C+ gauge that shows a green blip for AI aircraft in range of the users aircraft.Maybe ask in the panel design forum to see if anybody who knows c+ gauges can help
