I should have responded sooner, but they just released the 2.1 update and wanted to fly it and see what was and wasn't fixed. Seems like most of the issues are fixed now.

It's a beautiful plane, nice VC, frame rate is good, the inside cabin is modeled, flight model seems pretty good.

Two downers for me. First is the price: I bought it and I think it's worth it for me as it gives me a big plane without a glass cockpit (hate em). But, we all know it's likely Captain Sim will discount the thing with a sale later and then the money charged for it now will seem silly. The other relates to price as well: the sound is aliased to the default 737. Not much excuse for this to me, don't understand it and really don't think there is any reason for it other than just not finishing the package.

Flies well and that sorta bugs me. I remember (a long time ago) that the first place I worked for as a pilot was owned by a TWA pilot. He flew 707's and 727 as a first officer and I distinctly remembering him say he was so happy he was going back to the 707 as it flew like a real airplane. He didn't think the 727 did because of the main gear being set so far aft that it messed up landings. :isadizzy:

cheers,
steve

Yes please! And especially the FPS. I have the 757 and it's so bad in FPS it's not worth trying to fly. Also, do you have to know all the buttons inside and out to fly it? Thank you...

David, do you have FSX SP2 installed? Got FMS increase with it.
I do have Captain Sim's 727 and must say it is great aircraft to fly!

Just got it... at first impressions, it seems better on frames, but I was just set up at Edwards without a whole lot of things going on.

The 737 is annoying, and they'd better fix that, even if just for the bad publicity stuff like that gets.

pbearsailor- AGREED! I hate glass cockpits :p

Now to get to the manual :p

Hello again, I have always wanted to make a soundpack for the 737-200 so here it is. I think it`s a plane that people intend to forget, cause of the " oldschool " look with the slick engines...but anyways I love it, and with my new soundpack I have come to love it even more. So lets see if YOU could do the same with the it`s new sound. It is to use with Eric Cantu and Kittyhawk`s 737-200. Happy Newyear ! ! ! :-)

Just bought it ( the CSX727 that is, not that i crashed or anything...:faint:) and it's the most totally awesome & immersive FS tubeliner cockpit i ever sat in. Next best to sitting in the real thing ( and i did ! ) Despite all the bickering going on about CS, in my book, they are at the very top of FS 3D modeling and texturing and with their FSX 727 Pro Pack v2.1 they have again outdone themselves in this regard Not only re the internal model but that goes for the external model as well.

Of course i am at awe with their FSX 757 as well but my system ( Dell XPS710, Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.66 GHz.,Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX (768MB),4GB DDR2 667 MHz ) won't let me fly it with average satisfactory fps so i use their FS9 iteration. ( with the above mentioned system it's a blast, even taxiing around Aerosoft demanding Frankfurt ! )

Good thing is that average fps is much better with the CS FSX 727 compared to their FSX 757. Giving the fact that you not only can play PIC, FO and FE with a complete and fully working 3D FE panel at your fingertips, you can play trolleydolly as well with a completely decorated pax cabin with clickable bagage compartiments, seat tables, windowshades and what the heck not ( haven't been to the pantry just yet, won't be surprised if you can fill up your trolley with hot meals ) i think that's a major achievement and milestone.

Ok, who wants to play trolleydolly, FE or even FO, if you like you *can* and it just shows the enormous dedication these CS boys have to the development of their FS 3D models. ( they did not stop going full blown all singing and dancing with the internal model, you can open every exit/access door on the external model, including engine nacelle doors. There are wheel blocks, RBF flags, engine covers, boarding ladders, even emergency inflatable chutes )

What's of course more important : does it fly well ? Remains to be seen but after a quick test flight i think so !

Also important : does it sound well ? Can be quick about that : Nope. It's aliased to the default 737-800 sound. No good. But something can be done about that hopefully ( no luck yet... )

Yes, the price is pretty steep but for that you'll get the most beautiful rendered airliner internal in the FS world and amazing looking external to boot. And what's more, it's vintage !

Not in any way affiliated with CS, just totally at awe at what these guys have produced here. :isadizzy:

I'm virtually dead and gone to FS Heaven :engel016:

Cheers,
Jan

I used to have the Dream Fleet B727 when I was running FS9. The DF B727 could be completely started manually from cold and dark by the check list. The Captain Sim B727 V2.1 for FSX looks outstanding inside and out, however, how is the system modeling? Can it be completely started manually from cold and dark by the check list or is it all eye candy and no substance?

I would appreciate any responses.

Thanks!

What are the systems like?

I'm not expecting failure modelling etc., but I fly the likes of the SSTSIM Concorde, Level-D 767, etc..

Will I be disappointed? The visuals speak for themselves, but I'm interested in the SYSTEMS. Is EPR modelled accurately for example?

I want the nitty-gritty! :D

Best regards,
Robin.

I had both the DF 727 & CS 727 for FS9. IMO the CS one was better. I absolutely loved there 707!

I agree that CS is arguably the best FS dev out there. However their customer service is easily the worst. I wont go into details but suffuce it to say that CS will never get another penny from me.
