I uploaded my new FSX Acceleration native Seagull to flightsim and Simviation earlier today, should be there tomorrow. The configuration is for sea take-offs and landings. I have added the rcbco-30 gauges to my copy so I can catapult off my USS Idaho which has a simulated catapult. I recently modeled the P-6 catapult which was the 'pult of choice during WW2. I will release it in a few days in a form to be used with Instant Scenery so one can add it to a Battleship of one's choice.

Cheers, Paul

Thanks PutPut, your skills in aircraft modeling, and particularly texturing are getting better and better with each release! Any news on what your next project is going to be?

Yummy! I like seaplanes. Well done Paul!

And this'll go nicely as a companion with Piglets Vought OS2U Kingfisher pack. :)

Calling PutPut, Please look at this photo. It looks like your recent release but with gears like piglets Kingfisher. The picture is off the now closed Salem CGAS in Mass. Records are sketchy but indicate the Seagull was assigned USCG there for a time and that Seagull had Gears.

According to W T Larkins book,"Battleship and Cruiser Aircraft of the U S Navy 1910-1949" the Seagull was used for a short while by the USG. The float planes had beaching gear which is what you see in the picture. There were several versions of the Seagull that had landing gear in place of the floats.

Popped over to Flightsim to d/load the Gull. The zip though is only 873kb. Is that right?

Yes, I zipped this file with winzip 9 which has a very efficient algorithum. The same file with winzip 8 is over 2 megs. I may go back to v8 because I have received 5 emails saying the Seagull can't be any good because the file is too small!! I don't know if they even tried it or not.:monkies:

Cool, thanks Paul. It was just that given the normal size of d/loads I thought it might have been buggered up by Flight Sim. I'm off to grab it now. :)
