Keep a look out for TrialPay offers.

The system works like this:-

You try some piece of software on a 40-day (or so) free trial and go to uninstall 'cos you like it but can't find the cash right now.
The uninstallation process throws up a Web page offering the full version for free if you sign up to a free short-period trial of something else.
You sign up to it, supplying valid credit card details, and the unlock code for the software you liked is emailed right back to you. RESULT!
You find you don't like the games/music downloads/photo widgets/whatever so the next day you cancel the something else. Or maybe you like obscure jazz or historic funk and stay signed up...
I've stumbled across this twice so far and have gained two valuable (to me) pieces of software - GetRight, the download manager; and WinZip 12 standard edition. And the credit card is none the worse for the experience. :ernae:

This was originally in a post by Hey_Moe. Everest Ultimate for free. Please read the pages as you have to obtain a license for the software, but it is free. The registration page is in German, but the pages in the link explain how to do it.

Here is another good one.

It is a utility to erase the unused portion of your hard drive. That is the area of the hard drive that might or does contain old deleted files that have not been over written.

http://eraser.heidi.ie/index.php

This one will do from Pseudorandom Data (one pass) to Gutmann (35 passes)

I must agree with IOBIT's Advanced System Care Free. I liked it so well, I went ahead and paid for the Pro version. Great program, highly recommended. Get Smart Defrag while you're at it, works within Advanced System Care's Utilities. Game Booster really isn't needed if you are running a top line system.

For those that have Photoshop CS, Photoshop Elements, Paint-Shop Pro, or Corel Photo-Paint, I highly recommend the Virtual Photographer plug-in. Free at: http://www.optikvervelabs.com/.

Software to image your hard drive in part or full.

This software has saved me from Brand new hard drive failures twice in the last few months.

http://www.macrium.com/

Reflect is the name it comes in two flavors

Full blown version for $39.99 (well worth the cost)

Free but limited features http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp

The free version is all you need but when the software saves you a couple of times its time to purchase the payware version.

Nice little application for converting documents and images into pdf files.

Might come in handy for developers who need to write content for their add-on's or those who want to write tutorials and present them in a professional looking format.

DAZ3D has a free promotion for the month of it's software.
DAZ Studio 4 Pro, Hexagon 2.5, Bryce 7 Pro, plus a number of other packages are on sale for '$0'.

Looks like it ends at the end of the month. Sad news is that you still need to buy some of the character files to get the most benefit.
Not much available for the military crew unless you are into the fantasy realms. Has lots of applications for civilian areas.

Free items for Poser software at:- http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/freestuff.asp?StartNo=324

Autodesk Softimage Free Mod Tool software.http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?id=13571257&siteID=123112

Revo Uninstaller. Been trying the freeware version of this one on my Vista 32 bit PC lately, seems to work very well, creates a restore point first, able to dig very deep into the depths of the registry if you want it to.
