Some time ago the modelers i used to work for
(Mathias, Luca and Zipo) retired from active
3D modeling. Since then I tried to make repaints
of various airplanes but realized that nothing
is comparable to make textures for a new thing
which is born and growing.
So, at the end of january, I decided to join the
dark side and try me at 3D modeling.
This is my first attempt. Please be indulgent.

Not yet decided if going FSX or P3D4. But still
have a lot of things to learn: texture mapping,
animation, cockpit stuff and porting into the Sim.

Great! This one (Fiat G.50) has been totally missing from my hangar. Finland (my country) had those in Winter war (just some of them arrived in time at the end of the war) and Continuation war (1941-44) all together 35 planes.

Is it going to be freeware or payware?

Well, it looks so good it's hard to believe it's just your first attempt ! :dizzy:
You did quite well with that external model. :applause:
I hope the virtual cockpit will look just as good :)

It certainly looks like a FIAT G50 and that's a really good start.
Hope you keep on and reach your goal, I for one miss this aircraft so keep at it.
Kudos are definitely in order.

The aircraft will surely be freeware.
And also the early production versions and the Finnish version
with modified fin/rudder wil be made.

Pure alchemy - you 3D modelling chaps and chapesses. Geniuses the lot of you as I really can't get my head round it.

Sound and video is my thing.

Keep going - looks like it'll fly - and if something looks like it'll fly then I'm first to jump on/ in and fly it. :applause:

Grand work, alx, grand work! :applause: There's a long way to go yet, as you'll be fully aware after working with the aforementioned scallywags, but it's a good start. Lots of help available over at FSDeveloper too.

Fantastic looking model and a badly missed piece of flying heritage. Thank you for putting her on our radar.

Thank you Mathias.
The modeling phase is finished. Now I'm struggling with texture mapping.
A real nightmare at moment.

Hello alx, has been a long time since I have seen you around here, glad you are back! Has been a long time since we used to hang out at Netwings, in the Maw forum! That model looks good too!

Hi Alessandro,

Good to see you again. My "slightly biased" opinion is that you best release the model for FSX :biggrin-new:. From what I understand do genuine ESX model work in P3D, but I don't think that a P3D model will work in FSX.

The model looks pretty good and I'm sure your silk textures will make it something very special..... The G.50 is definitely a model which didn't get the attention it deserved, like the MC.200 Seatta.............

Cheers,
Huub

PS And when you are still looking for a (re)painter........
