A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - Other

Description: F. Giuli + Shessi SM-95C for CFS2 by UncleTgt

This is a repaint of the SM-95C by F.Giuli, as converted for CFS 2 by Shessi.

The pack includes a new air file, optimised for AI & player aircraft performance, plus a WIN 7+ safe panel bitmap. The mdl file has been tweaked to give better prop transparency & cockpit glass transparency.I also used MDLmat to alpha-out the cartoon-like pilots, & they are replaced by Blood-Hawk's Italian pilots in the dp file. The dp file is a development of Dvslats DC-4 dp file, & uses Kelicheart's exhaust effects.

The texture included is of I-DALO "Ugolino Vivaldi" of Aeriltalia, circa 1948.

Unfortunately, due to texture mapping issues, it proved impossible to provide camo'ed skins to represent the few transports used by the Luftwaffe & Regia Aeronautica during WW2. There are are also several model inaccuracies so the Aeriltalia repaint offered is, at best, an approximation of the real thing.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: F. Giuli for the original Savioa Marchetti SM-95C.

Allen for his DOSmdlc_2, making shine & mdl size changes possible in WIN7+.

Martin Wright for so many useful tools, in this case in particular MDLmat allowing aircraft model material transparency & colour changes.

Shessi for the steer on the best material colours & properties for clearer cockpit glass for CFS2.

Kelticheart for his exhaust effects, & inspiration for the propeller bitmaps.

Dvslats for the DC-4 conversion, as it's dp file was the starting point for the SM95C dp file.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.

Hi UT,

A couple of pesky little issues.

Where can I find the ita-pilot?
A few gauges and icons come up missing although none of them show as a missing noticeable blank space in the panel. I just noticed when I opened her up in Panel Studio to do a little tweaking that these gauges/icon were missing. No biggie:

Gello!Frero parcheggio
EGDIR!light Parking Brake
Gello!leva carrello
Simicons1024!radio icon
Simicons1024!kneeboard icon
Simicons1024!flap Icon
XML gauges!wiper switch

I downloaded Shessi's SIAI_Marchetti_SM95C and got all the gauges included there (I was only missing 3 of them)

Thanks!
MR

Hello Chris,

Italian Pilots come from Blood_hawk23's WW2 pilot pack http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=17&id=19262

Gauges look like leftovers from the FS9 original. I did no gauge work, I just made the 2D panel bitmap WIN 7+ friendly...
TBH, the panel needs a complete overhaul, maybe someone else fancies a go at it?:beaten:
