! IMPORTANT NEWS ! Gentlemen, for sure everyone knows Sibwings lab development team (An-2, Birddog, Pitts, and Safir were done by them) Some of you probably know that I was part of this team. I don't suppose anyone knows that serious upgrades of the Sibwings An-2 were planned, but never released. Now I can officially declare that in a deal with the rest of Sibwings lab team, it will be released on https://atsimulations.com (https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fatsimulations.com%2F%3Ffbcli d%3DIwAR3GtH8lWQ8s7kI5DQxDpEef4lgjQbt-KREdIZJM2itIKLlyM6Z_7YPHArU&h=AT3X-u_lu6n98bgsF15bC5jKZN63nqn1SylArhX0oRhnGHeOuzcZa9J 71ItxWYbMQtWKGwbJp8-N_ls5zTJRj_EH91MLuhtXcReG-K0CpMvlgUveZl5NGKfgFLVBjdVgY0Thx1MsUEMxy3VSmFNX4BS R1UAXFPr95Zxqk8VNFgF1i0y3pE3J0kz683k9TMcwFoDE2Vifw hUtj2rG33cBnNXpu4Q02qHsvtXWJOJ6X09_3URvohHF0JoX30--1FtqYgS4d0bCs4VkG-xGPIfC487l7b0-1vnNthFQUSy8WmrfCzmhcBTRtOH2SvQD1KDFtsreXiOvp6KoOx lZOEC6v0OOaaaVRTcLEeTAxRhUEI0X8fIfVxGKdc0hDhO6DB46 W-y7shudjOE7m0ym-aHzNydbfSuLY2I0RZMGDJoah0TnHYBSFp37izgVgXu3lnpA806 RFRdlhYvaABfiQPPAo9MA0JI4W-mGWRERzdFhvKj2fNOiD9Rv8TKv9x4zAyfAR723Vly_jsNfbGKb 0-MQn_3gqI_4tgsopXTxfwwRJoJJPh7CDCDmlvqcext3m4sStoxH qh0LTXWqAxtXgzhVywEGFB8fyR5-OfRHnz9kYSWpCGDFLbgLtxxY9EJphJssXJm63A)!

What will the upgrade include? Several new models - skis (two types), floats and wheels (two types). Prepar3D v4 compatible. A lot of fixes and new features provided. Numerous repaints were done since release - they will also be compatible.
Besides that, in deal with Sibwings lab everyone who already has the Sibwings An-2 for FSX will get 50% discount!

If you are a happy owner of Sibwings An-2 and some bug were there (or new feature wanted) and got on your nerves all those years, it is not too late to let us know about it.
Not much work left, some patience please, estimated release date is spring 2019.

Project page is https://atsimulations.com/an2 (https://atsimulations.com/an2?fbclid=IwAR0VFV_LfJgCPwMhEHvCsCziujSvd_R-7O238j_rAf_IaQSwDja_EZTz-aA)

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP!

This will have to go head-to-head with the Aerosoft product (is that an Octopus-G development?), but for sure the original Sibwings version was/is a classic, and based on favourable reception of the recent AT Broussard, well at 50% discount, sure I’m more than interested in this news.
Thanks for the HU, Ed.

Yes, the Aerosoft/Octopus G version is splendid, but still needs updating. The Sibwings version was in a similar state when communication ceased. The competition this will foster can be NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS for our Annuschka.

The Sibwings version was more visceral, the Aerosoft/Octopus G version a bit more sterile.

BOTH Sibwings and Octopus G could improve their customer communication/interaction skill set.

ALEXANDER METZGER DID BOTH FDEs and so they both fly wonderfully- that too will fully evolve in the next releases.

2019 is shaping up quite wonderfully after the Horribus Annus that was 2018...

That's great news! I surely miss that old An-2. That and the Saab were favourites of mine. The Saab is still working in FSX-SE but the An-2 ain't. So... delighted!!

Is Sibwings still active? I thought they ceased operation a while back.

I restored my Sibwings version from storage and forgot how nice it is. Only drawback is that it indicates an update is available, but nothing happens.

The Aerosoft version is another matter. They indicated an update needed beta testing, but seems there's a disconnect with the developer as nothing has transpired for months.

I'm definitely looking forward to the ATS version.

Yes, I don't think Andrey meant to infer that Sibwings was still an active company. . .he simply meant he had spoken to the other members that made up that team to get their ok to restart the AN-2 program updates.

My An2 works very well in FSX-SE.

For FSX it works still but the problem is P3D, especially P3Dv4 (64 bits).

This is VERY fair:

Besides, in deal with Sibwings lab everyone who already have Sibwings An-2 for FSX will get 50% discount!

Will it be available as a free patch if we're not upgrading to P3D? I do like the An-2 for short field work! (Mine never really had problems with it in FSX Gold, but I only get it fired up go VFR sightseeing while managing the engine and then put it away. I'm probably not using the add on to its full potential!)

Sadly you need an active internet connection to load the aircraft each time you select it

Despite the one objection from many users over this copyright protection i wish he would come up with another way that doesnt requires an internet connection everytime you want to use it

I had been chatting with these folks on Facebook prior to the release about another aircraft they were doing and their responses came within a day or so. When I saw this post about needing an internet connection my thought was, "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard", so I went back to their Facebook page and asked the question. . .that was in February. . .I've never gotten an answer. That makes me a bit suspicious, lol

That is indeed great news! Can't wait for this, I miss SP-AMN like mad, and the other An-2 seems to have just stopped in development. Do you know if Alex Metzger's updated FDE made it into this one?

Hi Ed,
probably the answer from ATS was in topic with Broussard's model and I can bet, Your phone takes 1000% more data than this DRM (the key is in base of producer or not). :encouragement:

Thats what flightsimlabs said and what happens with the standalone pcs

Theyre the only developer that requires a connection just to load the aircraft each time you want to select it

I understand on installation but every time you select a an2 model thats a bit much and a huge turn off considering im only home 40 odd days a year and away the rest of time with 90% of the time no internet

I think that will be a buy for me! Only the prop spinner looks a bit strange. But I guess one has to see that in motion.

I dearly hope for a revamped version of the Cessna Birddog. I awfully miss that one on P3D V4.4.

The old girl feels well, better and better with each day ;).
Few issues are still but when it will be solved the model will be released. Soon I hope.
Btw. new models: ski and float version (notice the new prop, the old kind of prop of Antonov An-2: W509A-D7 "sabres look").

YoYo-

What a BEAUTIFUL movie- one for the Bookmarks for sure- thank-you! Yes, all very nice, but my heart was stolen by SP-AMN, so it is her I wait for :)

Thanks again- just lovely. I keep thinking about this sort of thing happening in the US. Unfortunately, nowadays, they would have scrambled F-15s, the FAA would have sent black helicopters, and there would have been 3 committees formed just to review the FAR infractions- ah well... at least my simulation is more relaxing :)

Waiting with deep excitement- C

PS- in re.
