so 2018 is gone, but it was the year that I uploaded so many paints here on the outhouse and avsim that I now have my own categories here in the library. When ozx disappeared, I thought I'd better spread them over more sites, but it was a bit more work that I bargained for. I've lost track, but I think I uploaded well over 800 paints here. Most are done now, except for a 'few' A2A paints, because I'm waiting for an upgrade to P3D for the last of their models.
So, I thought I'd look back and show you some of my favorites.
while we wait for the new B-24 from Mike, here's a paint for the old Alphasim version:
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4832/44749345860_2823b222fa_h.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2bbm6tS)jk7526 (https://flic.kr/p/2bbm6tS) First time I drew the nose art completely from scratch.

I don't paint a lot of tubes, but I did this one a second time when I started uploading, because I found some errors in the first one. Still one of my favorites airliners, too bad it does not work in P3D (yet)

One of my all-time favorite airplanes and models is the C-47, especially the version from Manfred Jahn. I did a lot of paints for it, but this is one of my favorites, because the real one is only a few km from here, and made sure all the details are correct:

speaking of details, here is another one I'm proud of, for the Twin Otter from Aerosoft. Getting all the stickers correct was interesting, and it is not an easy model to paint either. On the other hand, for my first fieldwork in Australia, a long long time ago, the LandCruisers were provided by the BMR, so I just had to paint it.

when I wanted to paint this T-6, for the A2A model, I wasn't sure of some of the markings, so I contacted the owner, and he kindly supplied me with photos of ALL markings on his aircraft. It is always nice when people are so helpful.

a paint for the Milviz F-100, showing my first forays in photoreal painting, for the burnt textures on the rear of the aircraft. I tried painting it myself first, but getting it right was too difficult for my colorblind eyes. I found some really detailed photos of a real F-100 and used those, and I'm very happy with the result, I hope you are too?

Awesome work Jankees, and all the more amazing for you being colour blind. I'm mildly red-green colour blind too, it's what stopped me joining the RAF as a pilot ( their loss!! ) and it causes me all sorts of grief when texturing my aircraft and sceneries. Your paints are some of the best out there and that metal work is truly outstanding. Keep it up, can't wait to see what you do in 2019! :applause:

I was a bit late discovering the RealAir Spitfires, but I'm glad I did, because they are fantastic. I did a lot of paints for it, and this is one of my favorites. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4874/45653043285_da1640c5a6_h.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2cycMeX)jk7516 (https://flic.kr/p/2cycMeX) Not because it is such a difficult paint, but because of the movie that goes with it. If you haven't see it, here it is:

another favorite aircraft I keep flying is the Grumman Duck by Paul Domingue. It produces a strange color smoke in P3D, but I still love it. So ugly it becomes beautiful. Besides, as far as I know, it is the only biplane they were making way before WW2 that they were still making by the end of it. It must have been doing something good..This is an imaginary VH paint that is my default Duck, but I like all of them

When I changed from FSX to P3D, I was happily surprised that it included the Milviz P-38, with one of my paints for it! Obviously, I am doing something right as well (although not in this case, because one roundel was missing. I did do an update, contact me if you want it). Here it is with all roundels:

Mustangs!
I started my repainting when I found an old airfix model when moving, of the 1/24 P-51D 'Ridge Runner'. I had also just bought the Shockwave (now A2A) P-51D and thought that it would be fun to fly that in FS9. It took me a while to discover how it was done, especially how the alpha produced the shine, but that got me started. I recently painted it again for A2A newest incarnation of the P-51:

I can't show you that first version, because I don't have any screens of it any more, but it should still be available on avsim..but this one looks much better, believe me.

Part of the fun of Mustangs is the immense variety and they did carry some of the most elaborate markings and nose art. I have done literally hundreds of Mustangs, and I have a weakness for the very worn camouflaged ones, like this B-model from warbirdsim:
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7804/45843408954_5fbf4ec81e_h.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2cR2sjE)jk7504 (https://flic.kr/p/2cR2sjE)

and this D model, also for the warbirdsim Mustang:
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4892/45653345555_be89e45b43_h.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2cyek6v)jk7503 (https://flic.kr/p/2cyek6v)
With this last one, I literally spent more time removing the paint than applying it!

So there you have some of my favorite paints, all now available after about six months of constant uploading.
Do you have any favorites in the 100's I uploaded? Paints that you enjoy flying again and again?
If so, would you be so kind to share them with me, I would appreciate it!

Man these are all beautiful, thank you for your hard work! I'll be grabbing those T-6 and C-47 paints when I get home, they're both spectacular.

All your work is outstanding and much appreciated Jan. I hope you're on commission with all these aircraft developers because you're certainly increasing their sales, along with a few other well known and excellent artists.

I can think of about 6 aircraft off the top of my head that I have purchased after seeing the repaints you and Jeansy have put up for them, and I'm sure there are more. I'm sure I have hundreds of your repaints saved in my Aircraft textures folder.

Cheers,

Thanks for all of your work. :very_drunk:

I do do have many favorites of yours, but I can't show you screenshots of any until I return from vacation. Thanks for reminding me about Paul's Duck, I haven't tried it in P3D yet. That's another ill be installing, with some great Jan Kees textures, once I return.

We really appreciate the time and effort that you've put into uploading your outstanding work Jan.
When you upload anything I always check it out, even if it is not something I'd normally have in the 'Hanger'.
Developers should be very happy when you do a repaint for one of their aircraft, I've added more than a few 'different' types to my fleet thanks to you!
Many thanks and keep on keeping on.
