I draw attention to the following link https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/547732-radar-contact-and-jdtllc-in-transition/

RC4 is going freeware as the designers are retiring. I have it since FS9 and it is an excellent ATC substitute over the default FSX & FS9.

Be aware that the encryption file can give false +ve's virus wise. I can assure it is safe.

Nice to see the developers attitude.

Anyone getting it should seek out Meatwater's additional voices on Avsim.

Will it work in P3Dv4.4?

That's cool, although I bought it years ago and it is better over the stock ATC.

Thank you to the designers for all the years of hard work and being so generous to share it instead of "killing it".

On the AVSIM link, it says it will work with all versions of P3D. I can't confirm as I don't have any version of P3D.

This is very interesting. Im going to try it again. I had it years ago, but found it was a huge PC resource drain on my PC at the time. Made the sim crawl. That was a different machine and a different sim ago though.

I found this nugget of info on the avsim forum, scroll toward bottom:

Quote:

For those that are new to RC4 - might I suggest the "meatwater" mod in the file library - an audio engineer processed all the WAV files associated with the program - personally - I think it's a big improvement over the original...
Well worth the download:

Anyone know how the key generator is supposed to work?

Yes, when you run the RC4.exe the first time it will ask for registration. Fill in the blanks. You will see a long figure number. copy it. Run the encrypt file and it will ask for that number, paste it in and it will offer up the reg key which you copy and paste in the vacant RC reg box.
Happy New Year,

Happy New Year,
Got it. . .actually when you run the encrypt program it doesn't ask for anything. It opens with an empty box at the top and one at the bottom with no indication of what is supposed to be done next. That's what was throwing me off. Thanks

Yep. Thanks for the explanation. My frustration level would have steadily risen without it! NC

For those new to RC4, I think it valuable to go to http://www.jdtllc.com/documentation.htm and to d/l the manual, and the tutorials http://www.jdtllc.com/tutorials.htm where there are several instructional flights to get the hang of it. Even the FAQ page to d/l for it is likely that in time the website itself will vanish, though they stated they will still offer support thru' Avsim's dedicated forum.
