Is there a possibility that placing a GSL scenery in the same location as an earlier one will result in cancelling out the earlier scenery?

Ravenna,

It almost certainly will.

If you use GSLEdit supplied by Martin Wright adding objects to a GOB already occupied by scenery objects, those pre-existing scenery objects will disappear.

Howsomever, if you use MB's built-in GSL editor they won't.

What you need to be mindful of though, when using the MB GSL editor, is that you only want to add the additional objects to a previously "installed" layout and not the already installed layout plus the new objects. Then you will start doubling up on objects and it won't be visually obvious since they will all be sitting exactly on top of each other.

I think we have all learned the hard way on that one.

See " Modifying Existing GSL scenery" in his instructions on page 10.

If you need a copy , I can forward it to you.

Ravenna,

Here is a differnt solution.

Install scenrey 1 and take a layout file. Deinstll scebery 1.

Installe scenery 2 install layout file scenery one at the same place.

Highligth both scenerys and save a common gsl file.

Cheers,

Achim

Thanks for your help guys :encouragement:. If I remove the GSL which only has Allen's mole I assume that I can add the mole in the scenery I'm working on in MB.

When I load the saved mission file I assume that the objects on the mole will be there and not underwater! Hopefully it will not be a case of back to the drawing board:mixed-smiley-027:!

Hi Achim,
Scenery 1 is a gsl addon added with GSLedit. To deinstall it I can use GSLedit. I can highlight the mole objects in scenery 2, but I don't know how to highlight scenery 1 as it wasn't placed by me.

Cheers,

MR,

Just had another read of your post. If I add scenery using the MB scenery editor and save it I'll alter my own GSL without deleting the GSL object already there. If I want to share my addition I will need to make a gsl file of my addon, and that will overwrite the prior gsl addon. Am I getting it right?

Cheers,

Ravenna

Ravenna,

Now you understand why Kevin has requested a gob list whenever I send him new GSL scenery for the Battle of France. :biggrin-new:
