Microsoft will make a public announcement after New Years Day....(They [Microsoft] sent a press release to simflight) :)

Note: Simflight says the article in PCGAMER was "premature and incorrect"....

Yep saw that, thanks CWD,

MS will undoubtedly ignore the PCGamer nudge:d Probably (???) looking at an autumn release.

That's it, I am cancelling my subscription to PCGamer, ASAP! LOL

That's ok, we are one step closer to knowing more about it and it's release.

It is my personal hope that the expected announcement is short and simple like this for example: "Microsoft informs you that the PC Gamer article was unauthorized and filled with inaccurate information. When we have something to say about one of our products you will hear it from us. Have a nice day."

Here is hoping for the release to come out at 12:01 AM Redmond time on 1/1/06 :)

Wow! I just and read Avsim forums and SimFlight forums and now doubt everything including the PCGamer article. I guess we will know when we know or do we need another announcement to announce that! There also seems to be some tension between SimFlight and Avsim about the announcement of the upcoming announcement....are you confused, I sure am!

Here is an SOH announcement

We are announcing that we have no announcement about the announcement of the announcement to be made after the years end.

Just what I suspected, a lot of "hot air", no (or little) substance. Just read the about the same comment here: http://www.flugsimulation.com/

I am curious what kind of "big" anouncement we will get. The way FS9 looks like at the moment I am satisfied, but there seems to be a strange hype within the payware business to push out everything very fast at the moment. Something I also noticed with FS8 when FS9 was on itīs way.

Regards
Alex

All hail whistle blowers!!!.......Naw I don't belive so. Bolloc*s are bolloc*s and these guys should be hung, drawn, quartered and then executed 'til it really hurts.

I never liked practical jokers especially when they affect people's livelyhoods or dreams.

I third that!

Somewhat Ill-considered I feel. The harm done has been cleared up now by MS announcement. So thanks to that announcement both payware and freeware designers can now rest easy...with their financial or personal concerns set to 'stand easy' by Microsoft's willingness to state their position.

I would think that if they were uneasy at the premature word, then they would still be wondering what they will have to do differently (if anything) later on. The point was that up until the PCGamer goofup, it was speculation about there even being a new version, although some were more confident than others, this just gets the word out and now we know.

I can sympathize though, when the first EP came out for the SIMS2, it reworked the coding a bit in the main game and because of it all creators had to rework several parts of their creations to make them compatible....myself, over 480 files, it wasn't fun, especially the nasty emails :banghead:
