I agree. But as the designer said, this was just something he tried, so maybe thats why the model is not "finished " in many ways, air file included!?
I cant help here, sorry....texturewise, I can do a bit....heres another Falcon , hope you like her too !
HB-VDS livery, that black nose makes her look smart I think ...:adoration:

I noticed this as well.

Try reducing nose wheel steer angle slightly in the aircraft.cfg file (CONTACT POINTS) but mostly reduce rudder effectiveness in FLIGHT TUNING section. Jets need very little rudder except or engine loss at low speed, otherwise mostly they are "feet on the floor".

It could be that your throttle isn't working for both engines. Take a look at the throttle quadrant in the VC as you advance the throttles. Make sure they both move equally. Or you could watch the EFIS page to see what both engines are doing.
If one throttle doesn't move evenly with the other, you need to troubleshoot that situation. Usually, it's a button or slider assignment problem. Another case that can cause the same problem, it's because your default flight was saved after you assigned the throttle slider to a single engine to shut it down for a cold-n-dark set-up.
Are you sure both engines are actually started and running before you start your take-off? Do you check over the EFIS page to verify this? If not, make sure you start the second, non-running engine before you start your take off roll.

Could it be a case of your rudder being hard over? Is the AP on and trying to fly the plane on a course other than the runway heading? Do you look at the external camera view, and verify the rudder doesn't do anything except what you command, especially during the take-off run? Watch it when you "wipe" the controls prior to advancing the throttles. Does the rudder throw full both ways when you wipe the controls?

Do you have a crosswind blowing? If so, try shutting the wind down, and trying the take-off again, and see what happens.

Just trying to think of possibilities, and this time of day, it's not easy for me. Not enough coffee aboard yet...:dizzy:

Good luck!
Pat☺

Photoreal textures carefully applied to give the best visual results! And you should see the whole new cabin interior, it even has exit signs and reading lights, leather seats, etc....managed to add more realistic textures on the wings, engines, landing gears, tail and stabilizers.
Even the door/steps and front section are fully (photoreal) textured.
im doing a few repaints and I will release my humble repaints rest assured.
its a whole new textured model, based on the authors original work.

I asked the same question of the original designer who was supposedly working on several small updates as well as the incorporation of pilot figures. Then he just quit posting and hasn't been heard of, at least I haven't seen any posts from him since about two weeks after he released the Falcon20. Thomas is doing a nice job with several variants, but I'm not interested in those, only the base model. I'll continue to fly it as is but it would have been nice to get the crew into the cockpit.

Hello,

Thanks to TiAr for its latest improvements!:applause:

A question about engines!
The idle is at 34%!
Putting the throttles forward, the speed rises quickly to 78%, in 10seconds, then the speed increase slowed down and put 40 to 45 seconds to go from 78 to 99%! This second part does not seem realistic: in real life, the time taken to go from 75/78% to 100% is much faster (-10sec!) How can we modify and improve this?
Thank you

Alain

It is very nice to see so many beatiful paints and model variations, from you all:applause:. I have made some updates to the engines, as TiAr has implemented. He will do the HU-25. I am working on a G version (maritme patrol and surveillance) and an approximation of the 200.

I have also upload new models with pilots in the library. The pilots are Bjoern's guys, volunteering to fly Falcons.

If anyone is interested in the GMAX source files, or to improve the plane in any way, I am happy to share. As long as it is freeware. Send me a PM if you are interested. My gmax is very unstable, especially when working with visibility tags (crashes a lot). So post processing in MCX was necessary, especially the VC. But all the parts are animated and textured.

The airfile is made with Airwrench, working with real numbers all the way. The gear setup is calculated and synchronized with the 3d model. But my insight into the inner workings of the FS engine are still limited. But anyone can do the changes they feel is needed, and publish if they have some good results. I have never experienced any problems keeping the Falcon 20 on the centerline. Not with keyboard, expensive yokes, or a regular twist joystick?

The Falcon 20 seems to be of general interest, and I can't really belive that the commercial developers missed out on it. But hey, now we have three Falcon 50s. Erick Cantu has a really nice exterior model of the Falcon 20 stuffed away somewhere. I would really like to see it flying.

So much community engagement as seen here, should be able to produce som great stuff in the future. Perhaps if someone sparks a good idea... the freeware community might get its Renaissance.

It is an amazing little model, even though a low poly one. I can only imagine if some areas would have been created with more rounded areas, smoother areas, etc.
now, with updated engines the possibilities are even greater!
Unlike the recently released Falcon(s) 50, both payware, at least this one has the correct nose of a Dassault bird. :encouragement:
My textures, well, when compared to the amazing repaints seen here, they arent that good.
but still here in my hard drive, as I was expecting to paint a few more, so lets see. For those interested, pm me your email adress and I will hapilly share them. Not sure they work that well with the updated Falcon, havent tried it yet.

Hi Manecas,

You are very thorough, I can appreciate that. It is only time, that is scarse :biggrin-new:I will check the model, but it appears to be only visible in the "business jet model". Perhaps some double window posts.
As soon as I have finished the G version, I will try to fix it.

I agree that the Falcon 2000 is a great project. I have the Falcon 2000 training manual, and there are many details in it :-)
I would love to do a better job on another Falcon at some stage. And also to get some input from a texture artist during the process.

But as I experienced with the Falcon 20, much of the work is under the hood.
Avionics on this one this one, is a challenge. But if we could get people like Mario Noriega to help out with the system programming, it would help. He is great.

My gauge programming skills, not so much yet.

Best regards

Dear Rotorhub

What a stunning product. And fly as well in P3DV4.4 as well

( that says somebody which can compare to the Wilco/Carenado/Flysim/Lavigne+friends Falcons)

Really great

1 wish though ( I am not in GMAX unfortunately )

Could we get 1 VC with a flat ADI/HSI area to be able to ""Modernize" that part a bit ?

to one of the attached pictures

even, it easier I would take a total flat area in front of pilot and co pilot where VC gauges sit on top of panel.bmp it that is easier

Thank you for at least considering

Hi thunder100,

I tried to rework the default CRJ gauges, and tested it during development. But I went for steam gauges (they worked better with my Oculus goggles).
The avionics are more complicated, and the ACE xml syntax was a drawback.

Perhaps it can be done later. Either as a Falcon 200, or a retrofit with larger panels.(No promises).

But I can share share my gmax source, if anyone is willing?

Falcon thank you - but - unfortunately no.Yes 2 D is easy ( and done )

But on VC if you want to change ADI-HSI to different Rectangular shape-->you only have cut out of current ( oval ) ADI

And If you i.e. want to use a combined one like EDM1000 then you run in trouble as Rotorhubs VC is 3D so ADI-HSI are higher then the Instrumant board surface and that gauges (and the one on pictures look strange)

Just that is cherry picking and only the red one

Yep, despite being flat (not showing any depth) there was an advantage to having the gauges on a placeholder as opposed to the 3D style commonly used now. 3D gauges eliminate the ability to mix and match gauges to your liking unless they exactly fit the 3D area in question. I like 3D gauges but not when it comes to tweaking panels.

This was a learning project, and it is easy to paint your self into a corner. 2D gauges with 3D frames are old news, but it was all I could do at the time. I really would like to have real 3D gauges and a nice set of Collins Efis 84 gauges in there.

The flexibility of the old style vc panels was nice, but not with 3D goggles. The only exception I think, is Milton Shupe's creations. They are so well made.

I mainly use oculus rift to fly these days. It is also a great tool to check ergonomics and dimensions during development.

Many thanks for sharing your repaints, Rui - the exteriors look great!

Is there any trick to getting your pilot and revised interior textures to show? Do those files have to be installed into other folders?
I presume your interiors change the VC - or are they only for the passenger cabin?

hi again.
I uploaded a couple of days ago a folder called "Falcon 20 "Mystere" Enhanced Cockpit textures.zip",
in this folder I have the somehow updated VC textures,
these need to be placed into your Falcon aircraft "Texture" folder, please save the original files first.

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?linkid=25159&catid=223

the cabin textures can go there, or preferably, according to each repaint, into the other texture.XXX folders!
this way you can have a single cabin look for a specific repaint.
I hope I made sense!!?
:)

Hi Riu,

From your pic, I’d say it’s dead on. When you compare the pics of that Jetstar airframe on display and slightly faded vs older shots of it in service, I’d say you’ve rendered the Falcon as it could have looked when freshly painted.

I see no issue. Love that you have it the cheatline on the engine cowling. Colours on the fin flash and NASA meatball look good, as does the font on the tail flash from what I can tell. I’m pretty picky on those elements from years of reading on those period NASA birds and from having seen and photographed the preserved version-and I’m unable to add any corrective feedback.

Looks delightful, and more colourful than the recently retired STA G-11 schemes.

Thanks a ton!!

Both textures (fuse and wings) now have an alpha to show the reflections of environtment. Using fresnel and globalenv textures. Than I changed materials of model parts. Now it is possible to control chrome and reflexion display only with the alpha channel. I compiled the models for FSXA, working both in FSX and P3D all versions.

I just changed all the HU-25 Guardian versions I did - there will be an update, too. And I changed models a bit. It all have e.g. textured gear cases.

Manecas pointed out that forward nose gear hatch is a single panel. It is now fixed. I have also asked Mario Noriega for help on the flight model. If he have the time, he will do some magic on the engine tables and do some tweaking. His Mercure can be flown by the numbers!!! If we are lucky, we will get some input from a guy who fly Cargo Falcons for a living. Several talented people is improving the Falcon, to my great pleasure.:applause:

Well, from several photos it shows that indeed the nose gear door was one large piece, fitting into the back one that attaches to the nose gear itself. Im happy with this small fix Arild, it looks the part now!;)

Thomas, one silly question too;

since Arild is busy making other variants, and since you can do your magic and change things a bit, could you "make" me a Falcon with only 4 windows on each side for a Portuguese Air Force repaint?

Pleeeaaase?

The aircraft I mean had a big cargo door and windows, I dont need to have an opening cargo door, just four windows, and I will "paint" a cargo door instead!;)
the normal door can be left as in the other models.

but it would be closer to the original.

Thomas, turns out it was indeed the glass_T.dds -- I'd replaced that with the version that came with Rui's awesome improved VC textures. That file didn't cause issues with the default models, but it did with the NASA model. in the aircraft.cfg file, find the P-factor entry and set it to zero. that will stop your plane from fishtailing.. by default its normally set to 0.25 i think ( bad memory ) and for ,ulti engines you need it at 0.

N378DB will come with V2 the next weeks/days. In fact, there is only one (of 19!) model left with smaller display issues we have to solve for V2. Rui did a great job with creating basic "primer" paintings of all the V2 models, Alrid created a lot of new models like Falcon 200, Guardian or Cargo. My "job" was to modify all the models with add-ons parts and new materials settings. All models have an extreme framerate friendly development (optimized for VR) and are working very, very well in FSXA to P3D4.5.

@warchild, thank you very much for information, will go in V2!

Actually, everything's ready from our side. But we want to be honest. Unfortunately, we have a serious problem with the basic textures that many models use. Rotorhub and me are just thinking about how to solve it.

Keep your fingers crossed...

Howdy. I came across this thread and got pretty excited...But I can't seem to figure it out...Is this just showcasing your work...or is it available to the public somewhere?

I read through it pretty good and didn't see any mention of what's needed to get it or where to go.

Any information would be great!

Thanks.

If you're talking about the basic airplane, it has always been available in the SOH downloads section (Warbirds Library). If you're discussing the recent posts shown above, that model is not yet released as far as I can tell.

After a long and frustrating time with the Falcon 20 project, I have now decided to continue the V2.

The new picture shows a new base repaint of the VIP version, which I will use for all models now. Now I only have to repaint more than 40 textures to the new base textures, then the V2 can be released.

I have no idea how long it will take.

I think I didn´t show finished V2 Guardian of French Navy. It is a special model based of Arilds Falcon 200 I tweaked. This base repaint did Martial Feron some time ago. A nice one!

Wondering about flight crew in military style overalls (no g-suit or safety vests) in the military themed versions rather than shirt and tie corporate wear?
Or would it be an easy repaint to alter that?

I was passenger of this aircraft (sept 95) when...

The Falcon 20 had a night stop at Port-Harcourt (PHC), and departed at 06:37 UTC Lagos (LOS). The takeoff was normal, but after passing 1500ft when carrying out the "after takeoff" checks the crew noted that there was a red landing gear warning light indicating that the left main landing gear was not properly closed.
The crew recycled the landing gear twice but the problem persisted. A third recycling was carried out with the landing flaps extended to 10 degrees. After this, the warning light went off and the flight continued normally cruising at FL220.
The aircraft commenced its initial descent at about 07:15 UTC. The aircraft was cleared for an ILS approach to runway 19R. Close to the localiser intercept, the gears were lowered and the landing gear indicators showed that the left main gear was not deployed. The landing gears were recycled, but to no avail. The crew then proceeded to the area west of the field, climbed to 5000ft and carried out the "Emergency and Abnormal checklist"-Landing gear will not extend (Procedure B). Numerous attempts of this procedure were made but the left main gear failed to lock down.
The crew then carried out a low fly past for a visual observation of the landing gears. The crew also tried side-slipping the aircraft to shake the left landing gear down, but with no positive result.
An emergency was declared and after burning the fuel in the main tanks and the landing was made with the two gears extended. The aircraft touched down and veered to the left side of the runway and ran into the runway shoulder.

The emergency crank was just below my seat :topsy_turvy:

Good aircraft : no hurt, thanks God.

That VC - especially the 3D gauges, is getting better and better!! :ernaehrung004:

When released, will the clarity of the gauges be fairly uniform? For example the airspeed, altitude, VSI gauges seem crisper than the engine gauges, at least in that shot. Maybe it's just the screenshot or angle.

But it needs to be said - over the number of iterations, this model has gone from a decent model to superb external model (in the last go-round) and then you're matching that with the internal model. Remarkable progress, and very eagerly awaited.

Thanks for the progress shots along the way!

Sent the new approvements of interior/exterior to Rotorhub to verify VR behavior. On my system I have no impact on frames with V2.

In V2 there will be 16 different models with 22 different repaints. Including Falcon 20, Falcon 200 and HU-25 Guardian. At least 3 new Cargo versions are in the package.

Hi all:wavey:

Well, this little bird made me grab the airbrush again.

This will be a Spanish Air Force (Ejercito del Aire) VIP transport, hope it will be ready for upload shortly, if somebody is interested.:biggrin-new:

Hello gentlemen

Out of curiosity, has somebody got the UV maps for the bird? I have antennas mapped in the same place as undercarriage wells and that nose is giving me a bad time :banghead:, then again, the decoration of the Spanish Air Force is rather particular with all the scalloping! :biggrin-new::biggrin-new:

Thanks

As you can see, that nose is a bit complicated .

As for the aerials I was talking about, when going real close, I would think some of the wheel well pattern spills into them... I think, no picture for that so far!

thanks, nose section is bit unfriendly to repaint, but with some try and error it should be possible. Keep a look on N378DB repaint, could be helful. I also have a grid template. If you need it, send me a pm.

Forgive me for stupid question and my apologies for bringing this very old thread up

Is the Dassault Falcon 20C version 2 ready and available for download??

If so, where can I find it please?

Also, where can I find Ameristar and Fed Ex liveries for this please?

Thanks and once again, please forgive me for stupid questions

I have not followed the various mods and updates, after awhile it gets a bit confusing, however The only Falcon 20 I have or can find in the Warbirds download section is the Falcon 20E model. There is a version 2 for that but that's all I found.

TiAr
November 29th, 2020, 04:38

Falcon409 and TiAr,

Thanks to both of you for kind answer and great hyperlink!!!

Has Fed Ex livery been painted on this freeware model base, please considering the fact that it is first plane for Fed Ex?

I seem to remember seeing screenshots of RCAF Royal Canadian air force livery that is present day paint in grey color for Falcon 20E version 2 but I could not find in SOH download center?? Am I mistaken or does this livery actually exist?? This is NOT to be confused with another white retro RCAF livery that I saw on SOH download center.

Can anybody please be kind enough to paint Fed Ex livery on cargo version of Falcon 20E version 2, please??

Thanks,

Aharon
