as you all know the system requirements are always set in a range that hardly runs the game/sim, hehehe
:banghead:
I'll bet you will need a power house computer to get all it has to offer. :icon_eek:
32 bit machines will get the best frame rates,
64 bit will get the eye candy :jump:

For the time being I'm in good shape (P4 3.8GHz CPU, 7800 GTX, 2 Raptors in RAID0, and 2GB DDR2 RAM). If need be though I'll upgrade to the 7800 GTX 512 MB card (and maybe overclock the CPU). Can't afford a whole new system right now.....

Hopefully they take advantage of the graphic cards that are out now and free up some CPU power for the other stuff.

I hope the new version will take advantage of newer technology that FS9 doesn't such as SLI, RAID config, 64 bit memory capabilities. etc. I got that extra PCI expres slot just screaming for a card, LOL

Q: Will “Flight Simulator X” require Windows Vista?
A: No. While “Flight Simulator X” will not require Windows Vista, it will be optimized for the latest in Windows gaming hardware and fans will get the best experience by running on Windows Vista.
So no worries for anyone. While it "MIGHT" need a better system that what FS9 needs, it's not required. FS9 ran better than FS2002 did on my old rig, so we just need to wait and see or till they give out more info on this. Granted, the better the machine, the better the experience!

I don't think the new system will take that much of a power house system. Everybody has kept up with updating there system here and there. Only thing I can see is ya might have to update the processor.

we will need a DVD player.
.......Q: Will “Flight Simulator X” ship on DVD only?
A: Yes, for the first time “Flight Simulator” will ship on DVD only in order to provide the highest level of detail and realism for the product and we do not plan to offer a CD-based version.

we will need a DVD playerInternal DVD players are cheap, external cost a little more but can be used on multiple computers....I though everyone had a DVD player in their computer!...hehe...but then again some people are still running Windows 98.

Ickie, I have an internal DVD in my computer and an Iomega portable I carry around in my truck. I think I use the rebate to get a new flight controller.

I'm not worried about the requirements. I alway's use Battlefield 2, and now Special Forces, as a benchmark. If you can run BF2 at maximum settings then anything else is bound to run smoothly.

Think DirectX 10 hardware for all the eye candy chores in Vista.

well then i doubt if my rig runnin a .533 GHz Celeron 192MB SD Ram, and my 4Mb integrated intel chip will run it
I also doubt if the new one Athlon 2800+ 2.08GHz, 512MB DDR, 64Mb Integrated NVIDIA will run it either
Also i have run CFS3 on the first System but it was all white graphics and about 1 frame every 10 seconds
