Folks,

Just letting you know here that I recently learned that Pam has been taken into hospital. I don't have much detail other than it's something to do with her aorta, so quite likely a serious condition. I'll update as soon as I know more. My building of the Millennium Falcon wasn't just a test project - Pam's a Star Wars nut and as she's been so helpful to me in building the FDEs for my Black Widow and the Reporter I decided that it would be cool to build the Falcon for her.

Keep your fingers crossed folks that she makes a full recovery and gets to see the Falcon finished...

Good luck, Pam! Best wishes. Aorta? Sounds like an aneurysm. I had one operated on 2 years ago. Until then, I was literally a walking dead person.

Love you guys tons. Thank you for thinking of me and beig there. It seems my Aorta is completely blocked below my belly button and theres no circulation to the leg at all.. They are going to build a replacement artery for me tomorrow morning, so that i dont lose my legs. The doc says with as bad as my lungs are and my old heart, there is some risk, I admit, i'm a bit frightened. I'll be taking my thoughts of all of you with me in the morning. Wish me luck. I'll post once i'm out of the ICU.
Love ya

My hopes and wishes for a successful surgery, and a speedy, pain-free (as possible :D ), recovery go out to you!

I've been through my (un)fair share of surgeries. I was even dead on the table for a few minutes, when they were working on fixing up the eye the horse took. Long story. Anywho, I didn't even have a clue I had died for a bit until they told me about it. While the guy in the other half of my recovery room was coding, ie dead and they were trying to bring him back, right there and then. Makes ya wonder.
But I walked out. A little unsteadily from the pain meds, yes, but I was on my own two footsies. So stoned out, I stood in the middle of a busy street smoking a cigarette and waving happily at the cars going by.

I'll bet you will be too. I bet you'll be dancing a waltz before you know it :encouragement:
Assuming you could dance a waltz before, that is :biggrin-new:

Good luck to you, Pam, and we all look forward with bated breath to hear from you again. Positive thoughts to you!

Heheh. You guys are awesome.. Glad you were there. waking up was a bit dicey but we finally came ut of it. Doctors rebuilt the entire artery, out of Nomex none the less.. At least i wont catch on fire quite as easiluy. Over all i'm geeling much better now. Symptoms i had been attributing to the emphysema actually belonged to the clogged artery. and the doctor pushed us real hard to operate, because apparently i had hit the end of the road. I got lucky.. Nurses are taking really good care of me. I've been trying to get the guys to bring my computer in.. Prolly not gonna hPPEN THOUGH.So bear with me. it's gonna be an adventuresome week. Going to encourage you all, to make videos for fun.. That‘s very goodnews indeed and I‘m glad that your recovery seems to work out so well. :)

You have to recover soon since highly skilled FDE designers like you are very rare!

all the best,

Bernt

I've been away from flight simulation for quite some time. Most, if not all I spoke with while here, I've lost touch with them as well, unfortunately.

I don't know why, but I decided to log-in.

Pam, it's good to hear you're on the mend. Stay strong Missy. Thinkin about ya!! :semi-twins:

::LOL:: Damn Ive missed you.. It's good to see you.. How the hell are ya doing?? I'm personally mostly flying the dark side these days. I like it over there, but i like it here too with the people. I try not to influence too much because everyone needs to decide for themselves.
But yeahhh, you shouldnt stay a stranger.. sure the sands have shifted a bit and the landscape has a few new bumps ans ditches, but its all home and its all good.. Temorarily retiring from building again. My OBlood oygen level has been so low its been a wonder i could think at all, and it may be rising slowly with this artificial artery implanted but i still want to see where it goes before committing to a project.

Hello Pam,

We from the CFS1 group don't get out of the sub-basement much so I had not seen the news until just a few minutes ago.
Glad things went well and hope you have a speedy recovery!

Take Care.

i've been in outpatient therapy for the last couple weeks now, but i finally get to go hom,e tomorrow.. Got some new airplanes for xplane, got some new tennies, go a new staff and walking umbrella. I'm back up to around 93% blood oxygen now which is fantastic.I just dont have a lot of it any more. Still, its no longer a matter of the cloggged Aorta costing me my legs and maybe my life.. At least i can make my own pot of coffee once again.. Not quite just a talking head any more...

It's good to hear you're on the mend. Now just keep resting up until the day you wake up and say, "Damn, I don't remember the last time I felt this good!" Then rest some more and fly a lot of simulator time. :)

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Keep improving. Attitude plays a big part. Remember the Little Engine that Could, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

You can!

Oh yeah.. I've been hanging out with these guys since 2006. We may argue a bit and sometimes get downright almost uncivil, but aa finer bunch of people your not going to meet. I love these people, and will always at least be looking in from the wings.. They grow on ya, ya know.. :) :)
