in the carrer tackof misons for the corsair and hellcat i always leave the deck at just above stall speed and crash in the warter. my tack off rutean is as folows. 1. make shour wings are un folded. 2. drop flaps to take off position. 3.remove chalks. 4. add a little up trim. 5. holding beacks start engen. 6. still holding breacks increas power too full. 7. releace breks. then i promtly roll the lenght of the deck and hit the warter. but one thing i have noticedthat that in these missons it starts you on a fairly small escort carrer, so maby i just dont have enought room. or is there some trick

In addition to your steps, reducing the fuel load to 25% might help until you are more at ease with the carrier launches. Can't think of anything else at the moment. I personally don't use the brakes but do lock the tail wheel. I hit full throttle and hold it until I hear the engine peak, then yank the chocks and launch. It is also important to get the landing gear up immediately upon leaving the deck. That gives you a few feet of forgiveness as you drop near the water. Good luck.

and increase the carrier speed. also, the last thing you do is pop the chocks.

Make sure the mixture setting is 120%. This will give you extra horse power! Also do not put any flaps in until you are at least half way down the carrier...less drag

OLD EAGLES TIPS:

for Take Off from Escort Carriers !!

------------------------------------
7: "Full Power"
8: Engage WEP !

Keep the Stick a bit backwards to prevent propellers hitting the Deck !!!

Be VERY gentle on the pitch after airborne until speed is above 200 KPH.
