A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - World War I

Description: This is a repaint for Allan's 2 seat Sopwith Strutter. It represents an aircraft of 45 squadron, RFC stationed at Sainte-Marie-Cappel, May 1917. This aircraft was flown by Lt. Geoffrey Hornblower Cock MC, who was the highest scoring Strutter pilot with 13 victories. His rear gunner was 2nd Lt. Allen S Carey.

Thanks to Allen for a fine aircraft and for all his great contributions to CFS2.

Enjoy,

Ravenna

Just a bit of background on Lt. Geoffrey Cock MC:
One of a group of new pilots posted to 45 Squadron in October 1916, Lt. Cock had only completed his flying certificate the previous month. He scored his fist victory,an Albatros DIII on the 6th of April 1917 and went on to bring down another 12 enemy aircraft, shared with 7 different observer/ gunners, before being shot down on the 22nd of July on his 97th combat mission.Surviving the crash Lt. Cock became a prisoner of war, and was not repatriated until December 1918. By the end of the war he was the sole survivor of the group of pilots posted with him to 45 squadron.
After WW1 Lt. Cock remained in the RAF, eventually rising to the rank of Group Captain in 1938 and serving until his retirement in 1943.
