I have been reading all morning and I get a hint that it is a 64 bit game??
This would explain the silence.
Are you going to upgrade??
its double the fun for M$, first they sell you the Game, than the XP 64 bit, than they release "Vista", lol. Marketing = Money.

It will most likely benefit from 64-bit, but FsX will not be a 64-bit only game. Ms still wants to sell as many copies as possible, so it will also be compatible with the 'old' 32-bit Win XP (Maybe 2000 as well.)
If they make it for 64-bit only, don't expect a release before 2007, when a lot more people have a 64-bit system.

I do have the 64 bit Athlon already, but the operating system, being another MS product, might be more problematic.
Just remember, it's a feature, not a bug.......

I have an A 64 2.0GHZ, 1 gig ram, and a decent 128mb videocard, running on Xp pro 32bit. But ya know, if FSX is configured to run best on Vista, I'll wait a year or two for M$ to fix vista......
Me ganna play wait and see.

No matter what the specs are, or if itīs buggy or not, or if it runs smoothly on current systems...at the end we all will end up buying it........
Best regards

PS:on a side note..i still think fs9 will perdure quite some time..maybe kind of CFS2 way

If they developed in .NET (which I assume they are) it will run on any PC that has the .NET Framework installed, and automatically take advantage of 64bit extensions if the OS is 64bit (or x64) bit. On a PC with 32 bit version of Windows XP and a Athlon64 CPU, it will run in 32 bit.

I can't wait to see what the changes are gonna be in the makings of the planes. Don't figure it'll be alot, but one has to wonder.

I think the modelling and texturing has already reached an almost photorealistic level; The next sim will probably have support for more polygons, and most likely better (hardware) effects like real time lightning and shadows.

One just hopes the "X" stands for the Roman Numeral 10 and not "X" as in box......

Same here, actually hoping it "FULLY" supports what 64 bit processing will be able to do. I'm still waiting for a MOBO with FSB that will support 10+ gigs of ram since 64bit will thrive on it.

Man, I hope so also, :banghead: (we need a no console smiley, LOL)

This is EXACTLY why I've NOT upgraded yet. I figure if I wait until AFTER FS10 is released, then whatever is top of the line 64bit NOW, will be a couple of hundred bucks cheaper by FSX release ;)
