View Full Version : A little something for the Champ Camp in FSX

While looking at LilSki's textures, I noticed that his prowash is for the Decathlon. I made a new propwash for the Champ and enlarged it to 512 X 512 and just uploaded it to SOH. It's a quickie. I did not include a Read Me, but it is simple, simply replace the 32-bit 888-8 bitmap texture (new Alpha with texture) in the zip with the default of all Champs and overwrite.

This was made mostly for FSX, but it will work also in FS9. In FS9, you could open the texture in DXTBitmap and reduce the size to 256 X 256 should you desire in your graphics editor. Remembor to send the Alpha over and reduce its size also if you do.

Below I have included some camera definitions for those that have the Champ in FSX. Simply copy and paste them in the aircraft.cfg below the last aircraft entry. You'll get some neat angles and everything is sharper than in spot view.

Excellent Caz

I have a question...I'm flying the 7BCM (large tail) float plane and the floats are almost under water, how can I bring them up so they sit on top of the water?
I know there is some kind of adjustment but I just don't remember.

Dick,

I have never flown the Champ bobber, but I shall have a look into that. There is a fix for the FSX Grumman Goose that came with the Acceleration package, but I have not seen or heard of one for the Champ Floater.

Dick, I had that same question. I messed around with the contact points, tried using contact points from a similiar floatplane, no joy...:isadizzy:

Also, a question for Caz The orange/yelllow Champ doesnt have an N number, can you give us one similar to Charlie Brown, and maybe with the Aeronca logo on the fin...:applause:

Get the kettle hot under the CK-A and start the brewin', I'm a fixin' you up an aer-eeo-plane.

BTW, I only have the wheeled 7 AC and BCM Champs in FSX, no skis or floatplanes carried over, so I could not test. Do they do the same in FS9, I have the bobbers there?

Hi Caz

I have the 7AC and BCM in FSX. The skis and floats carried over and work just fin except the floats ride a little low in the water, that is why I'm looking to adjust the contact points.

When I tried it, the floats were almost completely submerged..:help:
