View Full Version : With Scenery option turn OFF

Seems my terrain texture looks much better now without trees..well of course in the beginning it's just a texture replacement and it's not designed to fit the trees line and more as eyecandy. Also i do most high altitude bombing mission so i don't need those trees shown up too.
With scenery setting turn OFF my laptop can survived while running the newest ANKOR Shader 2018...too heavy for my old laptop with only core2duo, 6gb RAM DDR2 and 9600GT but now i get better in performance without scenery ON. The downside is just the water color looks light blue when scenery setting OFF but overall still good looking :encouragement:

Found this way is so much better for my old machine also to my terrain texture without reducing the quality (sorry there's a mistake for what i said yesterday about the downside from turning off the scenery, actually the water still good and no changing at all.
For those who use this custom texture if you get blurry texture from distance then you can try adjusting this one in compositetexturebudgets.xml (inside assets folder), also setting bumpsmoothness to level 4 in models.fx
(inside shader30 folder) to make it more a bit bulky terrain and try to disable scenery option set Yes (<DisableScenery val="y"/>) in configoverrides.xml (inside user/yourname/appdata/roaming/microsoft/cfs3 installation) and see if its fits to you :)

i will try this in my Shaders install where my Fps are around 60,this could cure some stutter perhaps?also by moving this install to my C Drive iv`e found a big improvement.

For those who still haven't try the ground texture replacement, here's the link (It's not available at SOH):

It's compatible with ETO Expansion 1.5 and Vanila CFS3 3.1a

1.Make sure to backup your Assets Folder
2.Delete your Assets folder (If you have specific airfield or custom you can leave it)
2.Copy My Assets folder into your CFS3 Installation path
3.Delete all file with extension ZX (*.ZX) inside terrains,terrains2 & vector folders
4.Run the game
