June 7th, 2018, 04:34
After ending the BO-105 and permission from Nemeth to post it as freeware, i started to do the next modification to an NH helicopter model.

Airbus Helicopter had changed their EC-135 to the H145M some years ago. This one is the newest helicopter in German Airforce and used for all dutys for the KSK (Kommando Spezialkräfte) off German Bundeswehr.
So i will trie to modificat this EC-135 freom Nemeth to the new version.
Many things to change.... i started with the inside model.

Inside EC-135

some days later .... inside H145M (this is the export version with weapons)

Outside model EC-135
http://www.caribican.de/H145M/H145M1n.jpg

Next step was the modification for the outside model H145M with all the new sensors, optical changes on helicopter (also shown here the export version.... you can see many modifications right now).
http://www.caribican.de/H145M/H145M1k.jpg

Some other things are done till now...so i can show up some variants in test flight.....

The next problem is solved. The lateral stabilizing fins in front of the tail rotor are now removed on all models and thus correspond to the original H145M.
At the same time also a picture of the change in another variant of the Bundesluftwaffe. Equipment with heavy machine gun to support the ground troops.

I have to admit, when I saw EC-135 to H145, I was kind of hoping that you'd be doing the air ambulance, too, seeing as our local lot just bought a nice shiny red one to replace one of their (leased from Babcock) EC135T2's.

Thanks Klaus.

The Air Ambulance in the Nemeth set would be a more than adequate starting point, but I can contact MAAC and ask if they have any photos of the interior - they're usually extremely helpful. Unfortunately, as the aircraft is based at RAF Cosford on the active air station, it's very difficult to get access to. It may go to the open day at its sister aircraft's base later this year, when I may well be able to take some photos.

Looking forward to seeing the military variants anyway - I really appreciate the work you're putting in on these.

Cheers,

Also all texturing for all different models are done. All german helicopter registration numbers are dome (76 + 01 to 76 + 15) and can be changed by copying the different textures.

I think it will not take a long time to make the readme and then i will upload this first part of H145M helicopters.

Hi Klaus,

Out of interest, do you know the extra dimension of the stretch between the EC135 and EC145? I've noticed that almost all 145s have an extra window and they look, to me, visibly stretched, but how much extra room does that give inside?

http://www.ukemergencyaviation.co.uk/user/cimage/G-MPSC-010.jpg (Met Police EC145T2 I think?)
http://www.ukemergencyaviation.co.uk/user/cimage/G-PSNO-003.jpg (Police Service of Northern Ireland just bought one, too...)

That`s right.... they are a little bit longer

EC-135 = 12,19 m
EC-145 (BK-117) = 13.03 m
H145M = 13,63 m

In my "version" i used the origninal EC-135. To make a 4th window would have mean to change all the helicopter completly and every repaint. That`s a job for Nemeth Designs Development Group. :wiggle:

I'd guessed that bit - I was aware you were using the 135 model rather than stretching it... :)

I hadn't realised that the M was longer than the standard 145, though. The stretch seems a lot longer in photos than it is in the numbers - I guess given how cramped the EC135s are when full of equipment, however, even less than a metre is significantly more space to work in!

Thanks.

With the H145M troops their texture has been mapped to the exhausts, area and antennas.
Could the troops get their own separate textures so they could be individualized..?

When i load a Lakota without the ducted tail fan i get two sets of lights one of which appears to be in the positions from the original model which i guess are the co ords in the light section of the aircraft cfg, the other set appear to be for the new model, see attached pic.

It turns out that there is an extra set of NAV, Beacon and White lights in the aircraft.cfg.
Once remarked out you should be Ok.
There are lights hard coded into the .mdl file.

//light.0 = 3, -15.05, -4.19, 1.00, fx_navred ,
//light.1 = 3, -15.05, 4.36, 1.00, fx_navgre ,

I added some lights I thought appropriate though not sure about their accuracy.
To get the full effect you'll need to add separate control switches so you can have choices.
A panel popup with CPT Toggles/Switches by Jorge Salas works very well for this.
You'll need to sort out which controls what.

Hi,
Not sure if these items are on your list.
- If possible to redesign scoop area to get rid of older intake and make one large opening.
- Textures on the tops are separate so any symbols or lettering appear correctly
and not reversed.

That's definitely one thing about these aircraft... You'll never manage to model all the variants, because some bright spark will always have come up with another one before you finish the last one! :dizzy:

And the ec-145 variant from Metropolitan Police like you can see on Ian`s link.

There is another little mistake i did not notice in the Lakota Models. The rotor isn`t centered correctly. It is about 15cm to far back. You can see it also in that screenshots in post before. Seahawk72s found this one. Thanks for it. Will make just a small update for this in the next days only for these models.

Bag your pardon for this mistake.

Maybe this is a dumb question but are the modded models based on the Nemeth EC-135 or BK-117? Because the actual UH-72 Lakota is a BK-117 C2 branded as the EC-145. Some later variant's had a fenistron tail rotor but most have the BK style tail rotor. Also the 117/145 is slightly bigger than the EC-135.

Thank you very much Klaus! Your work is simply great. As you wrote correctly, I am working on native EC145 and H145 and its variants for FSX and P3DV4. But my work is in an early stage. Needs months until finishing.

Picture shows native P3DV4 UH-72A in P3DV4.3.

Please don´t ask questions here, there is a separate threat in P3D forum. You have to know there will be a native FSX adaption, too.

All mods based on the ND EC-135. I only use this model for this work. Just the backside rotor is from BK-117 (for the Lakota-Variants).
