I found this pic the other day. It's a still taken from a very rare 16mm film clip.

Any guesses?

A :icon29: for Willy. It is the prototype or DC-4E.

This rare film clip was taken at Salt Lake City in late 1938. Interesting that it was sold to Nippon Japan a year later. Just two years before the Pearl Harbor attack. One story says that it crashed into Tokyo Bay shortly thereafter. Another story says that it was reverse engineered and helped design the G5N Shinzan bomber- which had all the shortcomings the DC-4E had!
