Hi everyone at FSX discussion.

I wondered if there was anyone out there who could help me.

I was going through my FSX add-ons and came across the Lancaster which was modelled for 2004. It was the Aeroplane Heaven version I believe.

And Just flight once had an upgrade patch so it could be flown in FSX. Would anyone have such a patch as I tried just flight's site and have travelled the web
but no joy. if anyone has such a patch I would be extremely grateful.

Regards Gary.

Have you looked at the Lancasters from First Class Simulations in the meantime?

The Plane Design Lanc flies very well in FSX with a couple mods. Interior textures a bit dated, but excellent model.

Plane Design Lanc, ummm no, very dated and a port-over, although brilliant at the time. The Fcs Lanc isn't bad and it's my Lanc to fly presently, but I'm keen to see the AH offering.

If that is the AH version I have then it came into parts when sold. The download split into a 2004 version and an FSX portover version. It was the 'specials' , Dam Busters, Tirpiz etc and some French Martime versions (which I really liked) but the VC did not really work properly in FSX not did the views. Textures and design were fine by the way. But there was no patch that was it. I do not use it for those reasons. Liked the sound set.

I think it really depends on the new offering whether this is the Lancaster type you want to fly. AH's latest development is for a standard bomber, which is fine by me. They do good work and honestly I think this one should be fine too and I will get it.

Only Plane Design has adequately covered all the variants of the Lancaster and it is technically or for accuracy the best of all the Lancasters but it lacks in the high quality textures and poly department but there are a lot of mods and special packages that have been done for this one and paints especially. I am not sure if it is even for sale anymore.

I will keep the PD version and gets this one but I am staying with FSX for the foreseeable future for reasons a lot are; there is a large number of aircraft about that will not work in P3D and will not be upgraded into 64bit models and gauges.

IMHO the trend today is for developers to put all their efforts on fewer models or variations of the same aircraft type.

I have all the Lancaster models for FS9 and FSX already mentioned. I like the FCS Lancaster which has five aircraft folders, eleven different models.

I'll likely pick up the AH Lancaster when released as I like their products, but so far I haven't seen any mention of how many variations or models will be produced.

Would be cool if a MkII with the radials was included but will probably enjoy whatever is in the release! The Helldiver and Commando turned out great!! (I too take the FCS Lanc out a bit along with Virtavia's Lincoln and Rob's Shackleton.)

FCS MR.3, not bad at all considering its age and cross platform adaptability.

Not shabby at all, nice screenshots. The PD Lancaster still holds up very well indeed.
