Loved the F5000 era, been scanning my way through many Tasman Cup rounds that were run under the Formula.
Actually, Aussies being Aussies, it was decided that 'F5000' needed to be tweaked to become 'ANF1', so we had pushrod production derived 5.0L engines, 3.0L OHC production engines and full blown 2.0L racing engines.
REPCO and Chevrolet were the mainstay of the big boys (Fords were rubbish) and the only 3.0L car I ever came across was an F1 Brabham powered by a Porsche 930, while Merv Wagot's brilliant alloy 2.0L and assorted Ford BDA and FVA fours slugged out the small class.

Australian GP 1975 here, no apologies for the scratchy negatives, they've been 'in transit' for decades!

Actually IIRC this is from 1972, Chris Amon struggling with the appalling Lotus 70.
