Just an update of sorts to the thread that has long since disappeared for AF Scrubs Peashooter. I have redone the Multi-colored "95th Pursuit Grp" livery in 4096x4096 "dds" textures. . .I changed the Philippines Camo version to the one you see below which was one of a group of 12 sold to the Guatemalan Air Force as "Trainers" in order to get around a ban at that time (1940-41) by our Government against sending warplanes to foreign Air Forces (also 4096x4096). I also redid the texturing in the VC as shown in the image below. Also, the beacon and strobe have been adjusted slightly so as to be more visible. . .however I was never able to get Nav lights to show despite the fact that the Aircraft.cfg file seems to show them (possibly never included in the mdl file?). Other adjustments include the fuel tanks being added, contact points corrected, minor adjustments to the Engine section and additional info added to the aircraft information blocks (ui=, atc=, etc). Finally, I added some gauges to the panel (ADF, MP, Flaps), edited the engine primer bitmap to knock out the square background so that it looks like it's mounted into the panel and not cut out of a magazine and pasted on.

If anyone is interested, I'll post the zipfile, if not, I'll go back to having fun flying it by myself.

Definitely interested, Ed. :encouragement: I've been interested in the P-26 since building a very small Revell 1/72 scale kit back in the early 70's. Happy days. *sigh*

Would Love to have the updates here as well Ed. A nifty machine, especially as it works in P3Dv4.1 nicely.

Great looking piece of plane you put together Ed. It's amazing how much tech transformed from post WWI to the beginning of WWII. This plane definitely showcases the transition from bi-wing to mono-wing, open air to closed cockpit and even fixed gear to the retracting gear. So much more power and speed picked up when all the aerodynamic drag was cleaned up and this plane captures all that in between tech fantastically. Thanks for the time and energy to put this together. The pictures are simply fantastic.

Just a HU to anyone who might have this airplane and couldn't get the Nav lights to show. . . . . . . .make the changes hi-lited in red and blue and the lights will display correctly. Also, if you have the ability. . .add a Nav Light Switch either on a pop-up or in the VC. The Nav lights were originally set to "8" (Wing). . .incorrect. Thanks to Bill (WND) for pointing that out.

[LIGHTS] //#1=beacon #2=strobe #3=nav #4=cockpit #5=landing #6=taxi #7=recog #8=wing #9=logo #10=reheat

Thanks very much for the update Ed.

Was playing around with the updated Peashooter and am very impressed, less cartoon-ish than with the original textures. There are a few tweaks I made to adjust it more to my liking.

I moved the default view point forward 0.4 so that when you look to the side your not looking through the head rest.eyepoint=-2.062, 0.000000, 2.550340

I decreased the brakes scale by 0.3 so that she does not nose over as badly when you try to stop.
toe_brakes_scale=0.700000

The updated radio's use the ones from the alphasim b-57, which I don't have installed, and if I did the gauges would not be in the master gauges folder so I downloaded the B-57 from the alphasim freeware site and copied the ALPHA_B-57B.cab file from it into the peashooters panel folder. I am considering switching it back to the default 'portable' radio since that is what you would have if you were flying a restored P-26.

Alx, you have my vote also.

All the gauges needed for the update were included. There is a P26_panel.zip file included and the B-57.cab file is in that zip. No need to have downloaded again.

Better than what I have alx, I could not find a decent Sq logo (Owl). Also Huub's link has stencil info I also could not find (I didn't try very hard though). I did this same livery, I may use his link to add the stencils so it looks a bit more finished. Keep up the good work!

Hi Falcon, now I'm away from home. When back I could send you the Photoshop layer with all the stencils.
Thanks alx, but I use Paint Shop Pro, and have never had much luck getting Photoshop PSD files to convert. I'll use what Huub sent to get the stencils in place. Thanks for the offer though. By the way, where did you find the Sq. Logo (Owl?)

alx

Falcon, please give a look here:

And, about owl logo, I painted it myself checking with photos and drawings, as usually do with
logos and insignia.
