Tuskegee Airman

Just watched an episode of Dogfights on the History channel about the Tuskegee Airman.
In one account one of the Tuskegee airman recalled seeing the silhouette of a P51 and wanted to join up
with him. As he came closer to this P51 he noticed it had German Markings on it; a captured P51.

The Tuskegee pilot went into combat mode with this German P51 and it got into quite a fur ball fight. The Tuskegee pilot noticed his fuel status and could either pursue the captured P51 and risk
bailing out over enemy country and possibly captures or head back to his base - He chose the later and let the German P51 live another day.

A lot of enemy aircraft arrived intact in Britain, due to nav errors, forced landings and so on, so comparison testing was pretty easy. Things were different in Oz.
