I enjoyed this most entertaining show. That drummer sounds like the one that played with Glen Miller's band. Thanks for sharing Ted. :encouragement:

In a world that seems so void of real musicians anymore. Schools without music programs etc.. With so much synthesized and created to mass-market for money.... It is wonderful to see that the U.S. Military still nurtures what so many ignore. Great Sound!! Real Music!!! Love the WWII Uniforms that really set the period for the song. I agree with grey eagle, that Drummer was great. You don't have to be "Fancy" to be good. Keep a beat and drive the band!

Played swing band music in high school...drums. Always have and always will love the swing era. Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich are my favorites, but there are a plethora of jazz drummers out there that just knock my socks off.

I really enjoyed watching that guy playing in the Air Force Band. He is doing a wonderful job keeping that style and sound alive. Buddy Rich will always be in a category all to his own. His tip-speed and accuracy is mind-numbing to watch still today. That style of Jazz Drumming just isn't around anymore. I always thought Ed Shaughnessy was one of the very best. The entire Tonight Show Band was simply sensational. I don't think there will ever be another Horn player the likes of Doc Severinsen either. Doc is 90, and still can hit the high notes.
