Hello Wing_Z,
That Eisenhower looks very nice! I am thinking of buying AF2, Can you tell me what is needed beyond the default sim to make carrier landings possible? Where can the Eisenhower be obtained? And is there also a WWII carrier for the Corsair to use?

Hi Stickshaker,

I can answer some of the questions you have. There is not currently a WW2 carrier, although I expect someone will create one sooner or later. TBH I am not certain about the actual carrier capabilities such as traps and launches, I also need to look in to that. The F/A-18 is a default aircraft and is very nice visually and to fly. There are also quite a number of free addons such as scenery packages (as DLC from the Steam store/Aerofly page) and user created addons such as Point Mugu, the USS Eisenhower and more user created addons.

The Eisenhower can be obtained from the Aerofly forum, along with other scenery objects and repaints.

Bear in mind the sim is a WIP so there's lots of stuff that might be called a placeholder.
Do not expect working carrier ops just yet, but who knows what happens tomorrow?
That's part of the attraction for me.
Anyhow, a few more screens in northern California.
I said above it is stock: it is in fact DLC but free.

Yes under power on the ground you can very easily end up pointing the way you came...
I believe they killed more pilots in training than in combat!

Great shots!

I do all of my Aerofly flying in VR (Rift), so my screenshots don't look so great. I have been having a ball around Colorado, Utah, California in the F-15 recently. It is light on the systems, but it looks so cool and flies so well it doesn't matter.

Thanks Scott! I occasionally rent a Rift just to get reminded of how good the VR feels.
When they release the Hi-res version I will become an owner (and addict probably).

I've been using TrackIR which is also quite immersive.
Sadly after a recent WIN10 update, it stopped working :dizzy:

It would be nice to have some planes to show here other than P38, F4U, Sopwith Camel, F18, F15 and S211 (as fabulous as they are)… but those days are perhaps coming. Over on the Aerofly forum there are pics of a superb F104G Starfighter that a guy is developing and nearing completion. Another guy who developed a whole range of aircraft for Aerofly FS1 has now gone on to FS2 and planning to update a lot of his models... and me well I'm working on something too but I'm not saying what at this stage. Too early to be sure it will ever get completed. Its a firm favourite of mine and something that I attempted during my first foray in 3D modelling but chickened out of because it was a very tricky subject... but now after years of experience not so daunting.
