S!

I just lost an hour (trying to figure out what I did wrong) because I used a character OFF doesn't support (in my case "Saint-Exupéry") in my new pilot's name (my first pilot died heroically against 2 Alb DVa over the front line :icon_lol:, 1 hour and 30 minutes of lifetime at the front, no no WM OFF isn't too easy :wiggle: ).

Of course this only concerns people whose language is using "^`öéäà" etc. type of characters (mostly french, germans, spanish and some nordic languages I guess).

Thought I would share this with the rest of the community, so that no one else does that silly mistake.

If this issue has been addressed in an other thread, I'm sorry. I did a quick search but didn't find anything.

Well, it worked as soon as I created a new pilot name without the "é". Before that, as soon as I would start QC or campaign, it would crash during the loading phase. Then an error box would show up directing me towards : C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Application Data\Microsoft\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\UnlimitedPilots.xml.

Edit: Or do you think it might be the "-"?

Thanks, best to keep to standard characters if you have problems - this goes hand in hand with the international character issue.

Best be safe.
