Would someone please remind me of what needs to be changed in .fx files to get the smoke and lights to properly place on acft created before FSX SP -- that's when they broke the orientation right?

I've been importing acft into my FSX SP2 and many of the lights and smoke effects appear to be 180degress off?

I know I remember reading somewhere that all one has to do to fix the problem is to swap the coordinates around -- something about them being 180 degrees off after SP... or some such?

Thank you for assistance.

Hello mate..

From what I remember, the smoke values read as y, x and z from the models datum position. You need to change these to x, z, y in FSX. Yeah.. I think that's right:)

Not sure about lights. Can't recall ever having had a prob with them.

Thank you, Dave.

I'll try swapping the numbers on one of my acft tonight. I hope this will fix the smokes..

And now that I think on it, you might be right about lights..maybe I'm only having trouble with smoke being offset. I'll check a few acft in my 'problems' folder.
