I am testing the demo of this ambitious program:

So far I can say that it works, but not as well as promised in the videos on the site.

So I was wondering if any of you had any experience with World Terrain?

This looks very much like a payware version of Tileproxy.... Probably with low resolution tiles in the demo!

@scotth6: Thank you for those links.

I have now licensed World Terrain.

I have followed the setup adjustments to FSX, and WT is performing better.

One nice feature is the moving map with all the roads and landmarks labeled.

World Terrain claims to have been based on Tile Proxy. I never tried Tile Proxy, but I must say WT works well and is very easy to set up.

The screenshot is in the French town of Bagnères de Luchon (LFCB). I just selected the airport, and WT found the tiles online and downloaded them into a FSX scenery folder. The tiles are built from Bing Maps images.

The WT panel on the right shows the Bing moving map with street and landmark labels.

There is an active thread with lots of tips and screenshots and videos here:

http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/viewtopic.php?id=81167
