I run on a computer that runs cfs3 good enough but it looks like OFF is much more graphically superior to cfs3, so is going to slow people down more than cfs3 or will it be the same?

It won't be the same. The whole point of this is to take CFS3 further than a 3 year old game. There is MORE in OFF some models are more detailed etc.
You may have to play with the terrain and scenery sliders etc.

As WM said, the terrain sliders in OFF are 2 notches more than the regular CFS3
sliders.. in other words, setting 3 in OFF is 5 in CFS3!! so bear that in mind too.

Moving the sliders from 5 (maximum) to 3 more than doubled my frame rate. The move from 5 to 4 had little impact. 3 is definitely a good place to start if you're really in bad shape, fps wise.

Yep and 3 is the same as CFS3's 5, so you are doing well and when your hardware improves you can up the sliders - scaleability built in.

Actually, it is pretty comparable to my cfs3 frame rates with everything -1 (but terrain to 3) and a drop in resolution from 1260x(?) to 1024x768. So a resolution drop may help people as well (P.S. It looks mighty fine to me at 1024).

Also, I suggest that when you first start a mission, you pan around a number of times with an outside view - it helps me quite a bit as it seems to load the terrain into the video memory and cuts out the choppiness.

Yes Redwolf I found that panning issue with ATI cards. Bought an decent NVidia card recently and there is need to slow panning around anymore fast straight away! The ATI card was a top of the range at the time too.

Hey now, my ATI X800XL is doing the job :costumes:

Abolsutely m8 not knocking ATI I had many of them. I switched to NVidia 7800GTX for OpenGL support with Gmax and 3DSMax and was shocked when I ran CFS3 and there was no need to pan anymore ;)
