View Full Version : Problem Installing ZSOLTBELEZNAY AGRS / NAVY Paints

LotusL39 AGRS and LotusL39 NAVY repaint wont install. I had a similar problem with his Milviz T-38A and was told to make sure the "sim=" entry matched. I edited to match and it installed and showed in FSX AC selection.

Here are the install steps I took. He didn't specify in readme, so I installed as I have with many others.

Textures were copied/pasted to Lotus L-39.
Readme contents copied/pasted aircraft CFG File Folder and numbered sequentially. the "sim=L-39" was unchanged.

I dont know, as I dont have the model however I made a few repaints over the yrs and these things are often a easy fix as something small is often overlooked

you replaced the XX in [fltsim.XX] with the next number in line from the previous paint entry ?

sim= (should be the same name as the file that end with .air)
model= I cant say as I dont know if there are different models in the folder
panel="" (ive never seen "" in a aircraft cfg in the line)
sound="" (ive never seen "" in a aircraft cfg in the line)
Texture= (make sure its the same name as the folder that contains the dds or bmp files and contains texture.cfg) not the name of the zip

if you can show a screenshot of the Contents of the aircraft folder that shows all the folders associated with that particular plane, it should be an easy fix

or

Copy and paste a paint entry that works and change the title and texture and ui_vaiation to start with and then update the other things like atc id or flight number

Hmm. There's a model folder named 'model.vjazmam' in the 'Lotus L-39-multi' folder. Add the NAVY texture folder to the 'Lotus L-39-multi' folder and add an 'm' to the model folder name in the aircraft.cfg file.

model=vjazmam

Thanks for input fellas,

Numbered sequentially to the next number. I noticed that not all AC in the CFG have the same "sim=" designation. Some have L-39, others added letters. That perplexed me as I thought all "sim=" need to be the same. I will copy/paste to forum later. What I've shown above was the repaint config.

I know ZSOLTBELEZNAY (English speaking)is active in forum. However, no reply to my requests for help.

Hey "Bud":applause: YOU NAILED IT! I put texture in L-39, instead of "multi". Read me did not direct.

OOOPS! Exterior model on both Navy and Aggressor ok, but not as nice as seen in JPEG image, but interior dark trim. No detailed switches and such. Gauge opening show, but no gauge. Panels are incomplete.:banghead:. Will try defrag/restart.

No change. Cockpit textures not right. Actually, feeling like it's not worth all the time I've spent:dizzy:. Beyond my knowledge level.

Depending on where you installed the textures its possible that the new textures have incorrect references.

Will give it a go, but ignorant on these matters. The repaint textures are as above in repaint, =NAVY / =AGRS. Do you mean that the main CFG has to be changed? I can't change the Lotus L-39-multi AC CFG can I? Are you saying that I need to change the repaint texture=NAVY and texture=AGRS to match the L-39 texture=? think they very from each AC entry to reflect the style.

Here's the L-39-multi aircraft CFG File with my repaint entries (fltsim. 2&3). Are the texture and model entries supposed to match? Seems that's the only difference.

Will give it a go, but ignorant on these matters. The repaint textures are as above in repaint, =NAVY / =AGRS. Do you mean that the main CFG has to be changed? I can't change the [COLOR=#333333][FONT=Verdana]Lotus L-39-multi AC CFG can I? Are you saying that I need to change the repaint texture=NAVY and texture=AGRS to match the L-39 texture=? think they very from each AC entry to reflect the style.No. That is not what I mean.

1. Go to the aircraft folder containing the textures you added.
2. Look at the contents of the texture folder. In this case look inside texture.NAVY and texture.AGRS.
3. Each of those folders should have a texture.cfg file. If, so open the file and look at it. It should look like this:

fallback.1=..\..\Lotus L-39\texture
fallback.2=..\..\Lotus L-39\texture.bump
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\textur e

This file is simply a reference to textures located in other folders. In the above example it is referencing other textures locaed within the main Lotus L-39 aircraft folder in addition to common textures in the Scenery\Global folder.

The problem you have described is one I have encountered with FSXA whereby the texture.cfg is in error or is missing entirely. Meaning when you load the aircraft it is not finding the interior texture files located elsewhere.

Don't get too discouraged. This is how we learn how these things work. Trial and error.

Changing the NAVY / AGRS textures removed their specific skins and made the look like others. Will try to figure out how to take a screen shot of cockpit.

WH,....:cheerful::medals: YOU ARE THE MAN!! Gave it some thought and reentered as you diagramed, and :untroubled:, it worked. Was glad to add U.S. military to L-39! BIG BROTHER KINDA HUG! You, and others like you are why I hold SOH heads and shoulders above all other forums. and the reason I return. This is the second bit of editing I've learned regarding this painter work (sim= was other issue). FYI, he had none of the editing in.

Okay. If you look at Fallback.1 and .2 on my entry, they refer back to the aircraft folder Lotus L-39. Yours does not.

Assuming you installed the textures in another folder (mine are in Lotus L-39-civ), you need to update or modify the texture.cfg file.

The simple approach is to look at and copy a texture.cfg file from an other texture folder.
