Hey guys,

Had to give a shout out to one of the great comics of the "golden age of television." Mr. Warmth, Don Rickles, gone "too soon" at 90.

Thanks for all of the laughs, Don. I'll miss you terribly, ya moron.

Loved him in the movie "Kelley's Heroes". "Crap Game", what a moniker. He deserved to lug that .50cal halfway into Germany, and hiding in that wooden privy didn't do him any good either...

There was none other like him, and he'll live on in my memories. Rest in Peace my friend.

BB686,

I thought long and hard about putting up that "make a deal deal" clip from Kelly's Heroes, but in today's political climate, that would go over like a turd in a punch bowl. :toilet_claw:

I know I've mentioned my father, former Navy Flight Instructor in the AT-6/SNJ, and United Airlines Pilot for many years.
Well, now you've seen what he looks like. He and Don could be twins, I swear. When Don was real big in the movies and on TV, my father would get stopped for autographs at airports constantly. People thought it was Don researching a role or something. So, my father would give them his own autograph, and they'd go away happy, swearing they had gotten Don Rickles' very own autograph. At least until they would really look at it :D

Just a funny note. I actually met him once in an airport, the real Don, and he and my father just stood looking at each other for the longest time. Funniest guy I ever met, truly. Great sense of humor :)

Great loss to comedy, and humanity in general. Farewell, Mr. Rickles!
Pat☺

So obnoxious, so politically incorrect, and so funny. Another of the greats has departed. Rest in peace, CPO Sharkey.

Stansdds,

You've gotta love a man who quipped "America needs Italians to keep the cops busy." :biggrin-new:

That generation was just pure class. I really don't think any here would or could be offended by any of these guys. Sorry to see you go Rickles.

I seem to recall him as one of the crew members of the USS Nerka in "Run Silent, Run Deep." I don't think he was even credited for his part. Playing a bit part with Burt Lancaster and The King, Clark Gable. That was a LONG time ago.
